Adding an Application License

Application licenses must be installed on the publisher in a Policy Manager cluster. You can install multiple instances of each Application License. Guest functionality is included in Access licenses.

License keys are encoded for a specific application type (for example, Platform, Onboard, Access). For this reason, you are not prompted to select the application type.

Activating a License Key in the HPE Networking Support Portal

1. Open the HPE Networking Support Portal) at https://networkingsupport.hpe.com/home.

2. In the top navigation, go to Service Management > License Management, and then go to Licenses > Activate. The License Activation form opens (https://lms.arubanetworks.com/licenses/activate).

3. Enter the order number and confirmation number you received in an email from HPE.

4. Click Load. The HPE Networking Support Portal displays all licenses associated with that order.

5. Select a license from the table. In the Redeem column, enter the number of licenses you wish to activate.

6. In the Friendly Name field, enter a name for the license or VA Virtual Appliance. VA is a pre-configured virtual machine image, ready to run on a hypervisor. you are activating.

7. In the Software Version field, select 6.8 & later to indicate that this is a new license and not a license in the legacy license format used by ClearPass 6.7 and earlier releases.

8. Click Activate to activate that license.

To add an Application License to your ClearPass server:

1. Navigate to Administration > Server Manager > Licensing. The Licensing page opens.

2. Click the Add License link. The Add License form opens.

3. Specify the Add License parameters as described in the following table:

Parameter	Action/Description
License Key	Enter the license key for the desired application.
Terms and Conditions	Click the I agree to the above terms and conditions check box.

4. Click Add License. You return to the License Summary page, where the new Application License is now listed and the following message is displayed: <Application name> license added successfully.

When you add an Application License, the Administration > Server Manager > Licensing page displays the Applications tab, allowing you to activate the application licenses.
