Updating Within the Same Major Version

An update is the process of applying a minor patch release within the same major version—for example, from 6.7.1 to 6.7.2. Updates are available from the Software Updates portal in ClearPass Policy Manager. This section describes how to install a patch update either through the Software Updates portal, as an offline update, or through the Cluster Update interface.

During an update, the log database is retained. No extra steps are needed to retain the session log history during an update.

This section includes the following:

* Installation Instructions Through the Software Updates Portal
* Installation Instructions for an Offline Update
* Installation Instructions Through the Cluster Update Interface
* After You Update: Performing a Patch Rollback

The stand-by-publisher value should be set to false during the patch update process to avoid a false failover.
