Adding Filters Using the Filters Dialog

To add filters using the Filters dialog:

  1. Go to one of the following:
    • Menu > Classified Devices.
    • Menu > Classified Devices > Select the Devices Tab.
  2. Click the Filters icon in the upper left hand corner of the Classified Devices page.
  3. Enter filter criteria by performing one or more of the following:

    To enter What criteria:

    1. Select the What tab.
    2. Click the right arrow next to Category.

      All of the categories are displayed.

      You can click the Search icon in the heading to search for a specific category.

    3. Hover over the category you want to define as a filter and click the Include or Exclude icon.

      The category is added to the Active Filter region of the dialog and the Dashboard or List view displays the device information that matches the filter criteria.

    4. Repeat step c until you have selected all of the categories that you want as filters.
    5. Click the Back arrow.
    6. Click the right arrow next to Family.

      All of the families are displayed.

      You can click the Search icon in the heading to search for a specific family.

    7. Hover over the family you want to define as a filter and click the Include or Exclude icon.

      The family is added to the Active Filter region of the dialog and the Dashboard or List view displays the device information that matches the filter criteria.

    8. Repeat step g until you have selected all of the families that you want as filters.
    9. Click the Back arrow.
    10. Click the right arrow next to Type.

      All of the types are displayed.

      You can click the Search icon in the heading to search for a specific type.

    11. Hover over the type you want to define as a filter and click the Include or Exclude icon.

      The type is added to the Active Filter region of the dialog and the Dashboard or List view displays the device information that matches the filter criteria.

    12. Repeat step k until you have selected all of the types you want as filters.
    13. Click the Back arrow.

    Instead of clicking the right arrow icons and selecting categories, families, and types individually you can also select categories, families, and types by using the search functionality next to the What tab in the heading. The search functionality enables you to enter a partial value and everything related to that value appears in the search results panel and can be selected as a filter. For example, if you enter "A" in the search, all categories, families, and types appear in the search results panel that contain the letter "A". Next to each value it lists whether it is a category, a family, or a type. You can then select any of those values as filters.

    To enter Where criteria:

    1. Select the Where tab.
    2. Click the right arrow next to NAD IP.
    3. Enter the NAD Network Access Device. NAD is a device that automatically connects the user to the preferred network, for example, an AP or an Ethernet switch. IP value over NAD IP and click the Include or Exclude icon.

      The NAD IP is added to the Active Filter region of the dialog and the Dashboard or List view displays the devices that match the filter criteria.

    4. Repeat step c until you have entered all of the NAD IPs you want as filters.
    5. Click the Back arrow.
    6. Click the right arrow next to Subnet.
    7. Enter the subnet Subnet is the logical division of an IP network. value (for example, 192.0.2.0/24) over Subnet and click the Include or Exclude icon.

      The subnet is added to the Active Filter region of the dialog and the Dashboard or List view displays the devices that match the filter criteria.

    8. Repeat step g until you have entered all of the subnets you want as filters.
    9. Click the Back arrow.
    10. Click the right arrow next to Segments.

      All of the segments are displayed.

    11. Hover over the segment you want to define as a filter and click the Include or Exclude icon.

      The segment is added to the Active Filter region of the dialog and the Dashboard or List view displays the device information that matches the filter criteria.

    12. Repeat step k until you have entered all of the segments you want as filters.
    13. Click the Back arrow.

    To enter Others criteria:

    The values you enter as "Others" criteria under the Others tab are case-sensitive and must be an exact match. Partial string matches are not supported.

    1. Select the Others tab.
    2. Click the right arrow next to Authentication Method.
    3. Enter the authentication method value over Authentication Method and click the Include or Exclude icon.

      The authentication method is added to the Active Filter region of the dialog and the Dashboard or List view displays the devices that match the filter criteria.

    4. Repeat step c until you have entered all of the authentication methods you want as filters.
    5. Click the Back arrow.
    6. Click the right arrow next to Authentication Source.
    7. Enter the authentication source value over Authentication Source and click the Include or Exclude icon.

      The authentication source is added to the Active Filter region of the dialog and the Dashboard or List view displays the devices that match the filter criteria.

    8. Repeat step g until you have entered all of the authentication methods you want as filters.
    9. Click the Back arrow.
    10. Click the right arrow next to Open Port.
    11. Enter the open port value over Open Port and click the Include or Exclude icon.

      The open port is added to the Active Filter region of the dialog and the Dashboard or List view displays the devices that match the filter criteria.

    12. Repeat step k until you have entered all of the open ports you want as filters.
    13. Click the Back arrow.
    14. Click the right arrow next to Service.
    15. Enter the service value over Service and click the Include or Exclude icon.

      The service is added to the Active Filter region of the dialog and the Dashboard or List view displays the devices that match the filter criteria.

    16. Repeat step o until you have entered all of the services you want as filters.
    17. Click the Back arrow.
    18. Click the right arrow next to Destination Host.
    19. Enter the destination host value over Destination Host and click the Include or Exclude icon.

      The destination host is added to the Active Filter region of the dialog and the Dashboard or List view displays the devices that match the filter criteria.

    20. Repeat step s until you have entered all of the destination hosts you want as filters.
    21. Click the Back arrow.
    22. Click the right arrow next to Access Type.
    23. Enter the access type value over Access Type and click the Include or Exclude icon.

      The access type is added to the Active Filter region of the dialog and the Dashboard or List view displays the devices that match the filter criteria.

    24. Repeat step w until you have entered all of the access types you want as filters.
    25. Click the Back arrow.
    26. Click the right arrow next to User Name.
    27. Enter the user name value over User Name and click the Include or Exclude icon.

      The user name is added to the Active Filter region of the dialog and the Dashboard or List view displays the devices that match the filter criteria.

    28. Repeat step aa until you have entered all of the user names you want as filters.
    29. Click the Back arrow.
    30. Click the Back arrow.
    31. Click the Back arrow.
    32. Click the right arrow next to MDM Server Type.
    33. Enter the MDM Mobile Device Management. MDM is an administrative software to manage, monitor, and secure mobile devices of the employees in a network. server type value over MDM Server Type and click the Include or Exclude icon.

      The MDM server type is added to the Active Filter region of the dialog and the Dashboard or List view displays the devices that match the filter criteria.

    34. Repeat step am until you have entered all of the MDM server types you want as filters.
    35. Click the Back arrow.
    36. Click the right arrow next to MDM Server Name.
    37. Enter the MDM server name value over MDM Server Name and click the Include or Exclude icon.

      The MDM server name is added to the Active Filter region of the dialog and the Dashboard or List view displays the devices that match the filter criteria.

    38. Repeat step aq until you have entered all of the MDM server names you want as filters.
    39. Click the Back arrow.
