Upgrade the Firmware
To check a new version for a single device or multiple devices, complete the following steps:
- In the Aruba Central app, select one of the following options:
- To select a group, site or global in the filter:
- Set the filter to one of the options under or . For all devices, set the filter to . The dashboard context for the selected filter is displayed.
- Under , click .
- Select one or more devices from the device list and click the icon at the bottom of the page or hover over one of the selected device and click the icon. The pop-up window opens.
- To select a device in the filter:
- Set the filter to .
- Under , click , and then click , , or . A list of devices is displayed.
- Click a device listed under . The dashboard context for the device is displayed.
- Under , click and click in the window. The pop-up window opens.
- To select a group, site or global in the filter:

The recommended firmware versions can be different for different devices and depends on the device model and software architecture.

Downloading AOS-CX Firmware Image from a Local Web Server
You can download the AOS-CX Switch firmware image from a local web server.
Prerequisites
- You must have a local web server setup in advance. The desired AOS-CX firmware image should already be available in the local web server.
- The custom build version you intend to enter during the download must be present in Aruba Central. Make sure that your specified version is listed in the drop-down menu. If the specified version is not listed in drop-down menu, invalid firmware version message is displayed when entering the version.
- The naming convention of images uploaded to the local web server should be the same as that of AOS-CX images available in the repository.
To download the AOS-CX switch firmware image from a local web server, complete the following steps:
- In the Aruba Central app, select one of the following options:
- To select a group, site or global in the filter:
- Set the filter to one of the options under or . For all devices, set the filter to . The dashboard context for the selected filter is displayed.
- Under , click .
- Select one or more devices from the device list and click the icon at the bottom of the page or hover over one of the selected device and click the icon. The pop-up window opens.
- To select a device in the filter:
- Set the filter to .
- Under , click , and then click . A list of switches is displayed.
- Click a device listed under . The dashboard context for the device is displayed.
- Under , click and click in the window. The pop-up window opens.
- To select a group, site or global in the filter:
- In the pop-up window, select the appropriate firmware version. You can either select a recommended version or manually choose a specific firmware version.
- In the CX Firmware Version field, select Custom Build from the drop-down.
- In the Build field, enter the AOS-CX version number. Ensure that the build string that you enter consists of the version separated by dots. For example, 10.09.1010 is a valid format.
