Configuring and Viewing AOS-CX Switches in MultiEdit Mode

This section describes how to configure and view AOS-CX switches in the MultiEdit MultiEdit mode allows configuring single or multiple AOS-CX switches using the CLI syntax. You can also view the difference between the Central running configuration and the switch running configuration. mode.

  • MultiEdit mode configuration is applicable only at the device level and allows configuring a single or multiple switches using the CLI syntax.
  • MultiEdit mode displays only the running configuration on a switch. It supports only those commands that appear in the switch running configuration.
  • Some of the AOS-CX switch features require HPE Aruba Networking Central Advanced licenses. A notification message is displayed indicating that a valid advanced license is required for certain features. You can acknowledge the message by clicking the close button. The notification message is user-specific. Once the message is closed, it will not be displayed for the same user, but for other users, the message will be displayed. Also, the message acknowledgment needs to be done independently for each feature. The notification message will re-appear after 90 days and the user will have to acknowledge it every 90 days. To configure or view details of the switches provisioned in UI groups, complete the following steps:

  1. In the WebUI, select one of the following options:
    • To select a group in the filter:
      1. Set the filter to a group.

        The dashboard context for the group is displayed.

      2. Under Manage, click Devices > Switches.
      3. A list of switches is displayed in the List view.

      4. Click the Config icon to view the AOS-CX switch configuration dashboard.
    • To select a switch:
      1. Set the filter to Global or a group containing at least one switch.
      2. Under Manage, click Devices > Switches.

        A list of switches is displayed in the List view.

      3. Click an AOS-CX switch under Device Name.

        The dashboard context for the switch is displayed.

      4. Under Manage, click Device.

        The AOS-CX UI configuration page is displayed.

  2. To enable MultiEdit mode, move the MultiEdit toggle switch to the on position.

    The Device-Level Configuration page is displayed with the list of devices displayed in the Devices table.

    At the device level, the Devices table lists only the switch that you have selected. Also, a pop-up is displayed on the bottom-right corner of the page with the options View Config, Edit Config, and Express Config.

  3. Search for a switch by entering a search query in the Contextual Search Engine field.

    Status

    Status of the switch, whether Online or Offline.

    Config Status

    Status of the configuration sync between HPE Aruba Networking Central and the switch.

    • Sync—Configuration is in sync between HPE Aruba Networking Central and the switch.
    • Not in sync (Connection error)—Configuration is not in sync due to a connection error.
    • Not in sync (Modified outside Central)—Configuration is not in sync because configuration was modified outside HPE Aruba Networking Central.
    • Not in sync (Pushing config)—Configuration is not in sync because HPE Aruba Networking Central is still pushing configuration to the switch.

    NAE Status

    Consolidated status of the NAE Network Analytics Engine. The NAE feature within AOS-CX switches is a framework for automating the detection of issues and automating root cause analysis. agents running on the switch. Following are the supported values:

    • Critical—The agent has encountered a critical error during execution.
    • Major—The agent has encountered a major error during execution.
    • Minor—The agent has encountered a minor error during execution.

    • Unknown—The agent status is unknown.

    MAC Address
