Configuring a Time-Based Profile

To configure a time-based profile, complete the following procedure:

  1. In the WebUI, set the filter to a group.
  2. Under Manage, click Devices > Access Points.
  3. Click the Config icon.
  4. Click System.
  5. Expand Time-Based Services.
  6. In the Time Based Profile table, click the Add icon.
  7. In the New Profile window, configure the following parameters and click Ok.

Parameter Description

Name

Name of the time-based profile.

Type

Type of the time-based profile. Select one of:

Periodic—Configure a specific periodicity and recurrence pattern for a time-based profile.

Absolute—Configure an absolute day and time range.

Repeat

Frequency of a periodic type time-based profile:

Daily—Repeats daily.

Weekly—Repeats weekly on a specific start and end days in a week.

Day Range

Day range of the time-based profile.

When a user sets the time-based profile to periodic type with daily repetition, the following options are available:

Monday-Sunday (All Days)—Repeats on all days.

Monday-Friday (Weekdays)—Repeats on weekdays.

Saturday-Sunday (Weekend)—Repeats on weekends.

For example, if you set Repeat to Daily, Day Range to Monday—Friday (Weekday), Start Time to 1:00, and End time to 2:00, the time-based profile is applied Monday through Friday from 1:00 AM Air Monitor. AM is a mode of operation supported on wireless APs. When an AP operates in the Air Monitor mode, it enhances the wireless networks by collecting statistics, monitoring traffic, detecting intrusions, enforcing security policies, balancing wireless traffic load, self-healing coverage gaps, and more. However, clients cannot connect to APs operating in the AM mode. to 2:00 AM. On days and times outside this time range, the time-based profile is disabled and not applied.

 

When a user sets the time-based profile to periodic type with weekly repetition, the following options are available:

Start Day—Repeats weekly starting on a specific a day.

End Day—Repeats weekly ending on a specific day.

For example, if you set Start Day to Monday, End Day to Friday, Start Time to 1:00, and End Time to 2:00, the time-based profile is applied Monday 1:00 AM to Friday 2:00 AM every week. On days and times outside this time range, the time-based profile is disabled and not applied.

 

When a user sets the time-based profile to absolute type, the following options are available:

Start Day—Repeats on all days starting on a specific date.

End Day—Repeats on all days ending on a specific day.

Start Time

Start time of the time-based profile. Select the Hours and Minutes.

End Time

End time of the time-based profile. Select the Hours and Minutes.
