Creating a Group with Template-Based Configuration Method
To create a template group, complete the following steps:
- From the Classic Central app, filter .
- Under , click .
By default, the Network Structure tab is displayed.
- Click the tile.
The Groups page is displayed.
- Click (+) on the Groups table.
The Add Group page is displayed.
- Enter the name of the group.
- Select one of the following device types for which you want to create a template group:
- IAP and Gateway
- Switch
- Click Next.
By default the Instant OS architecture is applied for access points and gateways.
The network role for access points and gateways is Instant access points and WLAN Wireless Local Area Network. WLAN is a 802.11 standards-based LAN that the users access through a wireless connection. with branch gateways respectively. For more information about group persona and architecture, see Group Persona.
- Select the check box for Make these the preferred group settings optionally to save the architecture and persona settings of the current group for subsequent group creations.
- Click .
A template group with persona configuration is created.
If the group is set as a template group, a configuration template is required for managing device configuration.
