Improve RF Resiliency by Switching APs between Switches in the Stack
The Wi-Fi Wi-Fi is a technology that allows electronic devices to connect to a WLAN network, mainly using the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radio bands. Wi-Fi can apply to products that use any 802.11 standard. coverage when switches are down. In AP-Stacked Switch topology, if one of the member switches is down, all the neighboring APs connected to that particular switch cannot provide Wi-Fi coverage, implying a bad topology in the network. In such an event of Stacked Switch failures, Wi-Fi coverage can be improved by distributing the APs across the switches in the stack and by minimizing the number of neighboring APs connected to the same member switch. This insight recommends to swap the access points between the two members of stacked switches, provides the port number on each switch which needs to be swapped. This insight is categorized under wireless quality, and it is generated weekly and the time range is mentioned along with the insight.
This insight is available for both AOS-CX and AOS Stacked Switches managed by HPE Aruba Networking Central.
Insight Summary
At the Global context, the insight reason and recommendation are static. It is triggered only when the neighboring APs are connected to the same switch in a stack and the recommendation is to fix the issue by swapping the AP-Switch ports to distribute APs across switches in the stack.
At the Site context, it displays the switch stack that has been impacted and the recommended swaps that can be made to improve the RF Radio Frequency. RF refers to the electromagnetic wave frequencies within a range of 3 kHz to 300 GHz, including the frequencies used for communications or Radar signals. resiliency in the network.

Switch Stack
Lists the number of ports that can be swapped to improve the Wi-Fi coverage. Click the arrow to view the pictorial graph of the switch stack and the improvement that is achieved by swapping the ports in the stack. Click the number displayed on the card to view a detailed description of the impacted switch stacks:
- Name—Name of the switch stack where you can swap ports to improve the RF resiliency.
- Sequence Number—Recommended order in which you should swap the ports.
- Site Improvement (%)—Percentage of the site improvement. This signifies the proportion of the site that would gain resilient coverage when a swap is made.
- Recommended Swap—Detailed information of the swap with AP name and port number.
- APs with improved coverage—AP names that get an improved coverage after making each swap.
