Scheduling Incremental Backup

To schedule incremental backup for a large database, complete the following steps:

  1. In the Aruba Central On-Premisesapp Short form for application. It generally refers to the application that is downloaded and used on mobile devices. , set the filter to Global.
  2. Under Maintain, click System Management.
  3. Click Backup and Restore tab.

    The Backup and Restore page is displayed.

  4. In the Backup pane, click the Backup Later menu option.

    The Scheduled Backup window opens.

  5. In the Scheduled Backup window, configure the following parameters:
    1. Select Incremental Backup from the Backup Mode drop-down list.

      Incremental Backup is used only for large databases. Incremental backup is taken on a daily basis after a full backup on the first day of the schedule.

    2. Select an option from the Full Backup Occurs Every drop-down list.

      The available options are:

      • Weekly—Select this option to set once a week frequency for the full backup.

      • Biweekly—Select this option to set twice a week frequency for the full backup.

      • Monthly—Select this option to set once a month frequency for the full backup.

    3. Select an option from the Backup Day drop-down list.

      The full backup is processed only on the selected day. The available options are:

      • Sunday
      • Monday
      • Tuesday
      • Wednesday
      • Thursday
      • Friday
      • Saturday
    4. Set the time under Starting at, use the top arrow and down arrow to choose the required time.
    5. Host name or IP address— Specify the host name or IP address of the server.
    6. Protocol Type— Specify SFTP Secure File Transfer Protocol. SFTP is a network protocol that allows file access, file transfer, and file management functions over a secure connection. or SCP Secure Copy Protocol. SCP is a network protocol that supports file transfers between hosts on a network. . By default, SFTP is selected.
    7. File Path— Specify the file path or folder name in the server to which you want to save the backup data.
    8. From the Select Authentication Method drop-down, select any one of the following authentication method:
    9. SSH Key—When you select SSH, use the Copy SSH public key to the clipboard option to copy the authorized key. This key must be added in the backup server where you want to back up the data else the back up operation will fail.

    10. Username—Specify the administrator user name.

    11. Password—Specify the administrator role password.

    12. Host Key—Use the Copy host key to the clipboard option to copy the host key. If the backup fails due to a host key miss match, a pop-up message appears stating that the backup operation has failed. The Status in the backup pane is displayed as Failed. The Reset host key for <ip address> option appears in the Backup pane.

  6. Click Save.
