Controller Replacement
HPE Aruba Networking Central On-Premises allows controllers replacement through the WebUI. Navigate to Controller Details page to replace the controller.
Before you Replace a Controller
Consider the following important points before replacing a controller:
- Only single device replacement is available for controllers, bulk is not supported.
- The state of the device to be replaced must be offline.
- Ensure that the new controller is licensed.
- The make and model of the old and new controller can be either same or different.
- The new controller must be part of the device inventory and must not have any label or sites assigned to it because it is inherited from the old controller.
- After the controller is replaced, the new controller inherits the Group, Label, and Site parameters from the old device.
- After the controller is replaced, the old controller is removed from:
- Device Inventory
- Monitoring pages
- Site, Label, and Group
- The old controller is deleted from the monitoring page only after the validation process is complete. The validation process takes approximately 15 minutes.
