Triggering Redundancy Manually
You can trigger a manual failover or force a failover to initiate switchover for redundancy. A forced failover is intended for disaster recovery or if autofailover is not possible.
Prerequisites for triggering a manual redundancy:

Ensure the Enable Redundancy toggle switch is enabled.

Ensure both HPE Aruba Networking Central On-Premises clusters are active.

Ensure that the Data Sync Status or Restore Status of the secondary cluster is displayed as Successful. To check Restore Status using CLI Command-Line Interface. A console interface with a command line shell that allows users to execute text input as commands and convert these commands to appropriate functions. , use Backup-Restore Status. For more information, see Backup and Restore Status.
To manually trigger the redundancy, complete the following steps:

In the HPE Aruba Networking Central On-Premises app Short form for application. It generally refers to the application that is downloaded and used on mobile devices. , set the filter to Global.
- Under , select > Datacenter Redundancy.
The tab is displayed.

Click the Trigger Failover button corresponding to Initiate Redundancy Switchover.
The Confirm Action window is displayed.

Click Yes.
The All system operations will be disabled till the active system operation is complete message is displayed. The systems go into maintenance mode and does not perform any operation. The switchover is initiated and this operation takes approximately 60 minutes for the secondary cluster to attain the primary role. During this switchover operation, the WebUI displays This page is not working message.
The copadmin user can execute System Configuration > Datacenter Redundancy > show DR status CLI to check the status. It is displayed as good, failover ongoing. For more information, see Datacenter Redundancy.

After the switchover, the Sign In page is displayed on the HPE Aruba Networking Central On-Premises WebUI for the primary appliance.

Logon to the application and navigate to the Datacenter Redundancy tab.
The Redundancy Status table displays the switched roles of the appliances and its corresponding status. A log is added to the Audit Trail page under the System Setup category with DR: Role change to Primary completed with status successful description. For more information, see Audit Trail.
