Upgrading Primary and Secondary Clusters through CLI

Primary and secondary clusters can be upgraded for datacenter redundancy through CLI Command-Line Interface. A console interface with a command line shell that allows users to execute text input as commands and convert these commands to appropriate functions. option 4 System Configuration commands. Under option 4, you must use option 8 for Data.

To perform any upgrade for the secondary cluster, you must use the CLI option. You cannot update the secondary cluster through the user interface.

Upgrading Clusters

Enter command option 1 from the system configuration menu options to initiate the cluster upgrade.

  • Configure Datacenter Redundancy—Enter command option 2 from the Datacenter Redundancy commands to configure the secondary cluster in the network.

    • The version of the secondary cluster must be same as the primary cluster.
    • Secondary cluster can download the running HPE Aruba Networking Central On-Premises build, but cannot be upgraded until primary cluster is upgraded.

  • Remove Datacenter Redundancy Configuration—Enter command option 5 from the Datacenter Redundancy commands to Datacenter Redundancy configuration from the HPE Aruba Networking Central On-Premises network.

    Enter option [0 - 5]: 5 Disable Redundancy feature and Remove Datacenter Redundancy Configuration.

  • Any data synchronization operation like backup and restore is not triggered if upgrade is going on.

  • Secondary cluster can download the running HPE Aruba Networking Central On-Premises build, but cannot be upgraded until primary cluster is upgraded.
