Hardware — USB Serial Console Drivers

HPE Aruba Networking hardware devices that use a USB console or custom proprietary console cable require a console driver to enable the USB console cable on a laptop (if they are not already supported on the laptops). This document describes where you can download console drivers for your USB device. You can download a PDF version of this document here.

Devices that use RJ45 console ports do not require a driver.

Table 1: USB devices that may require a driver

AP-CBL-SER (Header)

Mini-USB

MicroUSB

USB-C

MicroUSB TTL3.3V to USB2.0 (uUSB) - AP-CBL-SERU

Please consult your device’s hardware Installation guide to determine which of the above USB cables are used.

For indoor APs and Gateways/Controllers that use the AP-CBL-SER (Header style), Mini-USB cables, Micro-USB cables, or the orange AP-CBL-SERU cable, please visit FTDI’s driver support website to download the appropriate driers required for your device and console cable.

For outdoor APs that use both the Micro-USB cable and the USB-C cables, the serial emulator is built in to the AP and uses Silabs drivers.
