Assigning Devices to Floorplans in Floorplan Manager

An AP must be onboarded first to the account before it can show up on the list of available devices on the site. While assigning devices at the floorplan manager, you can see all the buildings and floors of the location.

To assign devices to specific floorplans, complete the following steps:

1. From the Action drop-down list, select Assign Devices to Floors.

   The Assign Devices page is displayed with number of available floorplans and list of devices on each floorplan.

   The Assign Devices page displays following information:

   Data Pane	Description
   Floors	The floor number and floor name available in the site. By default, the devices assigned to the top most floor are displayed. Click the floor tile for which you want to assign devices.
   Name	Name of the devices not assigned to any floorplan.
   Type	Type of the devices.
   Model	Model number of the devices.
   MAC Address	Mac address of the devices.
   Serial Number	Serial number of the devices.
   IP Address	IP address of the devices.

2. Select a floor number from the list of floorplans displayed under Floors on the left pane to start assigning devices.

3. Select the devices by clicking the checkbox against it to assign it to the selected floorplan and then, click Assign Devices. You can also select multiple devices at a time and assign to a floorplan by clicking the checkbox in one go.
   

   Optionally, to remove devices from the floorplan, uncheck the checkbox against the specific device.

   When there are multiple devices or floorplans in a specific location, to search for devices or floorplans, you can type the device name, model, MAC address and serial number in the Search box. The Search box has a free-text search capability, where you can type the full or partial information to populate the required information. Additionally, to narrow down information, you can also filter the devices based on device type and device model.

   To perform filtering, click the icon next to the Search box. The Filter dialog box appears where you can select the device type, device model, and assigned devices that you want to display on the Assign Devices page. To clear applied filters, click Clear.

   Click Cancel to go back to the Floorplan Manager.

   To customize the Assign Devices table, click the Customize columns icon to select the required columns, or click Reset to default to set the table to the default columns.

   New HPE Aruba Networking Central allows you to sort the devices alphabetically and numerically for all the attributes present in the Assign Devices page. To sort the devices, click the icon available next to each attribute.
