Association Max Client Threshold Configuration

The Association Max Client Threshold Configuration insight provides information on Wi-Fi association failures observed in the network and recommends the maximum client threshold configuration to accommodate more connections. You can view the analytics for the previous 24 hours or seven days.

To access the Association Max Client Threshold Configuration insight, complete the following steps:

1. Access the Insights page. For more information, see Accessing Insights Page.

2. Click the Association Max Client Threshold Config tab.

   The Client Association Metrics for the selected SSID over the last 7 days is displayed.

   Click the 24 Hours tab to view the last 24 hours data. You can use the SSID drop-down to view metrics for different SSIDs.

   You can view the following metrics:

   • Actions card—Displays the recommendation to increase the max client configuration to accommodate more connections. In the Actions tile you can perform the following:

     • Click the View Floorplan button to view the access points on the Floorplan based on the coverage type as listed below:

       • Constant Coverage—APs that provide constant coverage.

       • On Demand Coverage—APs that are placed under power save mode.

         You can use the Affected Floors drop-down to view different floors.

     • Click the View button to view a list of APs and corresponding association metrics with the current configuration.

       In the AP Association Metrics window, you can view the following details:

       Parameter	Description
       AP Name	Displays the name of the AP.
       Association Failure Count	Displays the number of association failures occurred in each AP.
       Association Success Count	Displays the number of association successes occurred in each AP.
       Unique Clients Failing	Displays the count of new clients that failed to associate.
       Current Max Clients Threshold	Displays the current threshold configuration.
       Recommended Max Clients Threshold	Recommended threshold configuration to accommodate more connections.

   • Client Association Metrics—The graph displays the number of clients in the y-axis and client association metrics in the x-axis. You can also hover over the graph to view the exact count of impacted APs, clients attempting association, successful associations, and failed associations.

     The legends in the graph display the following:

     • Predicted Peak Failures—Indicates clients that failed to associate after the configuration change.

     • Failing Clients—Indicates clients that failed to associate.

     • Associated Clients—Indicates clients that successfully associated with the SSID.
