Enable WPA3 for Better Security

The Enable WPA3 for Better Security insight identifies clients on the customer network that could benefit from increased security if the customer updates their WPA3 settings.

WPA3 security provides robust protection with unique encryption per user session, ensuring a highly secured connection even on a public Wi-Fi hotspot. The recommender advises the customer on the best security settings to utilize.

To access the Enable WPA3 for Better Security insight, complete the following steps:

1. Access the Insights page. For more information, see Accessing Insights Page.

2. Click the Enable WPA3 for Better Security tab.

You can view the following metrics:

• Actions—The tile provides a list of SSIDs that can be upgraded to the recommended WPA3 authentication modes.

  To view the list of clients in the network with potential WPA3 incompatibility issues, click the View button.

  The WPA3 Incompatible Clients window is displayed.

  In the WPA3 Incompatible Clients window you can view the following client details:

  • Name—Displays the name of the client.

  • MAC Address—Displays the MAC address of the client.

  • IP Address—Displays the IP address.

  • WLAN—Displays the SSID to which the client is connected.

  • Year—Displays the year when the client driver or chipset was manufactured.

  • Vendor—Displays the name of the vendor.

  • Model/OS—Displays the operating system of the client.

• Update SSID Security Configuration Card—This card displays the action that an administrator must take, the advantage of updating the SSID security settings to WPA3, and the percentage of clients who will benefit.

• WPA3 Capable Clients by SSID—The graph displays the percentage of WPA3-capable client and potentially non-interoperable clients in the y-axis and the SSIDs in the x-axis. You can also hover over the graph to view the percentage values.

  Note:

  Clients not supporting WPA3 can still connect to the SSID using WPA2 authentication.
