Configuring Alerts

HPE Aruba Networking Central allows you to configure the following alerts:

Note:

Alert configuration page now supports a set of pre-defined roles with different privileges and access permissions. With role-based access (RBAC) support, administrators can configure alerts, while users with read-only access cannot perform any configuration tasks.

Actions that are unavailable due to permission restrictions are disabled, and a warning message is displayed to indicate that the user does not have sufficient permissions.

To configure alerts, complete the following steps:

  1. In the HPE Aruba Networking Central landing page, click the menu icon to open the Menu page.

  2. In the Alert Management card, click Manage.

    Inherits From

Indicates the source or hierarchy level from which an alert configuration is derived.

    Hierarchy levels and override rules:

    • Global Level—Represents the default configuration applied system-wide. All sites and devices automatically inherit these global alert settings unless explicitly modified.

    • Site Level—When an alert configuration is defined at the site level, it overrides the global configuration for that specific site. This allows the users to tailor alert thresholds or conditions based on the operational requirements of individual sites.

    • Device Level—When an alert configuration is applied directly at the device level, it takes precedence over both the site-level and global configurations. This provides the highest degree of customization, ideal for unique or critical devices that require specialized monitoring.
