Configuring Application Visibility for Access Points

HPE Aruba Networking Central

To view Application Visibility in HPE Aruba Networking Central, enable the AppRF service on APs.

To enable AppRF, complete the following steps:

1. In the HPE Aruba Networking Central application, click on the configuration icon.

2. Click Devices.

3. Filter by Access Points and click on the AP name you need to enable AppRF for.

4. Click the Manage button in the Application Experience card.

5. Click the Manage button in the App Recognition and Control card.

6. Click on the ARC profile name.

7. Select the Enable Application Recognition checkbox.

8. Click Update.

Classic Central

To enable AppRF, complete the following steps:

1. In the Classic Central application, set the filter to a group that contains at least one AP.

2. Under Manage, click Devices > Access Points.

3. Click the Config icon.

   The configuration page is displayed.

4. Click Services > AppRF.

5. Select any of the following options for Deep Packet Inspection:

   • None—Disables the App and WebCC options.

   • App—Classifies client traffic to applications and application categories.

   • WebCC—Classifies client traffic to specific website categories and website's reputation score.

   • All—Performs deep packet inspection on client traffic to application, application categories, website categories, and websites with a specific reputation score.

6. Click Save.
