Configuring Application Visibility for Gateways

HPE Aruba Networking Central

To view Application Visibility in HPE Aruba Networking Central, enable Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) on gateways in Classic Central.

Note:

All Gateways support Application Visibility.

To enable AppRF, complete the following steps:

  1. In the HPE Aruba Networking Central application, click on the configuration icon.

  2. Click Devices.

  3. Filter by Gateways and click on the gateway name you need to enable AppRF for.

  4. Click the Manage button in the Application Experience card.

  5. Click the Manage button in the App Recognition and Control card.

  6. Click on the ARC profile name.

  7. Select the Enable Application Recognition, App Performance Monitoringand theGateway Specific Parameters checkboxes.

  8. Scroll down to the Gateway Specific Parameters section and select the Firewall Visibility.

  9. Click Update.

Classic Central

To configure a gateway group or gateway, complete either one of these steps:

  • To select a gateway group:

    1. In the Classic Central application, set the filter to a group that contains at least one branch gateway.

    2. Under Manage, click Devices > Gateways.

    3. Click Config.

  • To select a gateway:

    1. In the Classic Central application, set the filter to Global or a group that contains at least one branch gateway.

    2. Under Manage, click Devices > Gateways.

    3. Click a gateway under Device Name.

    4. Under Manage, click Device.

  1. If you are in the Basic Mode, click Advanced Mode to access the advanced configuration.

  2. Click Security > Applications.

  3. Click Application Visibility.

  4. Select the Deep Packet Inspection check box.

  5. Select the Application performance monitoring check box.

  6. Click Save Settings.
