SIM Provisioning

This section provides instructions for configuring a device with a cellular connection using either a physical SIM card or an eSIM profile.

Note:

Only one SIM connection can be active at any given time, even when multiple SIMs are present.

Physical SIM

Insert a nano-SIM card with an active cellular subscription into the device. Upon successful provisioning of both the SIM card and the device, all three LEDs on the device should be solid green, indicating proper operation. The device should then come online on HPE Aruba Networking Central. For more information on installing the physical SIM, refer to the HPE Aruba Networking BR-150 5G Cellular Bridge Installation Guide.

eSIM Provisioning

This section describes the prerequisites and the process for provisioning an eSIM.

Prerequisites

Ensure that the following prerequisites are followed before provisioning the eSIM:

  • eSIM provisioning is supported in firmware version 10.8.0.0.

  • Local GUI access is needed for eSIM provisioning.

  • Local GUI can only be accessed if there is no connection between BR-150 and HPE Aruba Networking Central.

  • If using a console cable connection, eSIM provisioning operations can be performed via device CLI.
