Importing Device Certificates

HPE Aruba Networking Central allows you to import multiple certificates from Classic Central.

Note:

To import the device certificate on the Certificate Management application, ensure that the Read and Create permissions are enabled for the specific user role.

To import device certificates, complete the following steps:

  1. In the HPE Aruba Networking Central landing page, click the icon to open the Menu page.

  2. On the Certificate Management card, click Manage.

    The Certificate Management page is displayed.

  3. Click the Actions drop-down list on the top-right, and select Import from Central.

    The Import from Central wizard is displayed.

    On the Select Certificate from Central page, the available certificates from Classic Central are listed.

  4. Select one or more desired certificates, and click Next.

    The Validate Certificate page is displayed listing the following certificate details.

    Role

    Privilege

    Name

    Name of the certificate. This is an editable parameter.

    Type

    Type of certificate.

    MD5 Checksum

    The MD5 hash value of the certificate.

    Expiry

    The date and time until which the certificate is valid.

    Status

    The status of the certificate displaying either Valid or Invalid.

    Note:

    The Invalid status is displayed for one of the following conditions:

    • The certificate name already exists in HPE Aruba Networking Central.

    • The MD5 Checksum already exists in HPE Aruba Networking Central

    • The certificate has expired.
    Reason The cause of the validation failure, if the Status is Invalid. Some of the possible values are Long certificate name, Certificate name already exists, Inactive Certificate.
    Pending Actions The recommended action to take based on the Reason value. The possible actions are Rename Certificate or Remove Certificate.

  5. Complete one of the following steps:

    • If Pending Actions displays Rename Certificate, rename the certificate directly in the Name field. Click Validate.

    • If Pending Actions displays Remove Certificate, this means the MD5 checksum already exists in the certificate store. To proceed with importing the same certificate again, complete the following steps:

      1. Navigate to the Certificate Management page and delete the existing certificate with the same checksum. See Deleting Device Certificates.

      2. Navigate back to Import from Central wizard, select the certificate again.

      3. Click Validate.

  6. On the Import Certificate page, click Import.

    The new certificate is successfully imported from Classic Central to the HPE Aruba Networking Central certificate store and is displayed in the Certificate Management page.
