Creating a Service
A service defines a TCP, UDP, or IP protocol and a list or range of ports supported by that service. You can create a default or custom network service alias that is used in policies.
To create a service, complete the following steps:

In the HPE Aruba Networking Central landing page, select a site from the Sites menu.
Alternatively, you can click the expand
icon on the Sites menu to search for a site from the list.The site dashboard is displayed with the network and connectivity information for the site.

Click the configuration
icon.The Network Overview page is displayed.

Click Library.

Click the Named Objects tab on the right.

Under the Services tile, click Manage Services.
The Services table is displayed with a list of service aliases.

Click Create Service.
The Create a Service panel is displayed on the right.

Configure the following parameters:

Name—Enter a name of the service alias.
The alias name must be between 1 and 63 characters in length, and can include numbers and lowercase letters.

Description—Enter a description of the service alias.
The description can include a maximum of 128 characters including letters, numbers, and special characters.

Attributes Protocol—Select one of the following radio buttons:

TCP

UDP
-
Protocol Number

Ports—Enter a single port, a dash-separated list of port numbers, or a comma-separated list of port numbers.
Note:This parameter is applicable only when you select TCP or UDP from the Attributes Protocol list.

Protocol Number—Enter IP protocol number for which you want to create an alias.
Note:This parameter is applicable only when you select Protocol Number from the Attributes Protocol list.

Restrict to following application (ALG)—To limit the service alias to a specific application, select one of the following service types from the Application Level Gateway (ALG) drop-down list:

DHCP

DNS
-
Facetime
-
FTP
-
H323
-
ICMP
-
Jabber
-
MSRPC
-
NOE
-
RTSP
-
SCCP
-
SIP
-
SIPS
-
SUNRPC
-
SVP
-
TFTP
-
VOCERA
Note:AOS-S does not support the field Restrict to following application (ALG) when creating a Network Service Alias.

Click Create
The new network service alias is added to the Services table.
