Navigating to Configuration Page

You can navigate to the configuration page either from the global context, by selecting either a specific site, or by selecting a specific device:

For a list of elements on the Configuration page, see Elements in Configuration Page

To view the multi-level hierarchy, see Viewing Multi-Level Hierarchy.

Viewing Configuration Page from Global Context

To view the configuration page from a global context, click the configuration icon in the HPE Aruba Networking Central landing page.

The configuration page for the Library is displayed.

Viewing the Configuration Page from a Site Context

To view the configuration page from a site or a device context, complete the following steps:

  1. In the HPE Aruba Networking Central landing page, select a site from the Sites menu.

Alternatively, you can click the expand icon on the Sites menu to search for a site from the list.

The site dashboard is displayed with the site health, device, and client information.

  2. Click the configuration icon.

The site view redirects to the selected site scope in configuration hierarchy.

    Note:
    • Profiles created in a scope are locally significant to the selected scope. To promote a profile to library, clear the Create as a Local Profile check box under Create Profile side panel.

    • Changes to existing profile parameters inherited from shared profiles or parent scopes will create overrides.

Viewing the Configuration Page from a Device Context

To view the configuration page from a site or a device context, complete the following steps:

  1. In the HPE Aruba Networking Central landing page, select a site from the Sites menu.

Alternatively, you can click the expand icon on the Sites menu to search for a site from the list.

The site dashboard is displayed with the site health, device, and client information.

  2. To view all devices, click Network.

  3. Under Devices, click the device name.

  4. Click the configuration icon, and then click the List icon.

The device view is redirected to the selected device scope in configuration hierarchy.

Note:
  • The configuration icon is displayed only when the device is either part of the Central 3.x group or the Device Function persona is assigned to the device from the Device Inventory page.

  • Device names under the Devices table are hyperlinked only when the devices are either part of the Central 3.x group or the Device Function persona is assigned to the devices from the Device Inventory page. You can click on the device name and navigate to the particular device context page.

  • Devices that are part of a Central 3.x group and also have the Device Function persona assigned allow you to click the device name and navigate to the specific device context page. For these devices, the Configured via Classic Central message is not displayed.

  • Devices that are neither part of the Central 3.x group nor assigned the Device Function persona from the Device Inventory page can only be configured through Classic Central. As a result, the device names are grayed out and cannot be clicked in the Devices table. For these devices, the Configured via Classic Central Only message is displayed. In such a scenario, you must navigate to the configuration page only through the site context in HPE Aruba Networking Central.
