Device Function
The device function is a mandatory construct in HPE Aruba Networking Central that determines which element configuration profiles can be applied to a device. These profiles define the configuration parameters for the device.
HPE Aruba Networking Central supports the following device functions:

When a device is first onboarded, HPE Aruba Networking Central assigns it a device function. For more information, see Assigning a Device Function to a Device.
Selecting a Device Function
To select the required device function for your device type, complete the following steps:

In the HPE Aruba Networking Central landing page, click the configuration
icon.
The Profiles tab is displayed. -
In the left navigation menu, navigate to Library.

Under the Profiles tab on the right, select the required device function from the Device Function drop-down list.
