Multicast Global Profile
The Multicast Global profile enables centralized configuration of multicast behavior across fabrics through the UI. It provides options to enable or disable IPv4 and IPv6 Multi-Fabric Border support. Additionally, you can specify parameters for IPv4 and IPv6 multihash. These settings help optimize multicast traffic distribution, enhance load balancing, and ensure consistent multicast management across both IPv4 and IPv6 environments.
You can configure this profile only when the device function is assigned as Aggregation or Core Switch. This profile cannot be configured at the library scope.
Creating a Multicast Global Profile
To create a Multicast Global profile, complete the following steps:

In the HPE Aruba Networking Central landing page, click the configuration
icon.
The Profiles tab is displayed. -
In the left navigation menu, select Devices to create profiles at the Device level.

Select the switch from the Devices list.

On the Routing & Overlays card, click Multicast Global.
Alternatively, you can complete the following steps:-
On the Routing & Overlays card, click Manage.

On the Multicast Global card, click Manage.
The Multicast Global list view is displayed.

Click Create Profile.
The Create Profile side panel is displayed. -
Enter the Multicast Global profile parameters:

Create as a local profile—Select this option if you want to configure this profile as local.
The Create as a local profile option is available at the Global, Site Collections, Sites, Devices, and Device Groups levels.

Name—Enter the name of the Multicast Global profile.

Description—Enter the description for the Multicast Global profile.

Under Multi-Fabric Settings, configure the following parameters:

IPv4 Multi-Fabric Border—Select this checkbox to enable IPv4 multi‑fabric border functionality, allowing IPv4 multicast traffic to cross fabric boundaries.

IPv6 Multi-Fabric Border—Select this checkbox to enable IPv6 multi‑fabric border functionality, allowing IPv6 multicast traffic to cross fabric boundaries.

IPv4 Multi-Fabric Identifier—Specify the unique identifier for the IPv4 multicast fabric. This must be the same across all leaf routers within the same fabric to ensure proper multicast domain grouping and isolation.

IPv6 Multi-Fabric Identifier—Specify the unique identifier for the IPv6 multicast fabric. This must be consistent across all leaf routers within the same fabric to enable correct multicast domain grouping and traffic management.

Under L3VNI Settings, configure the following parameters:
These options are available only at the device level.

IPv4 L3VNI Source—Specify the IPv4 source interface or IP address used for Layer‑3 VXLAN Network Identifier (L3VNI) communication.

IPv6 L3VNI Source—Specify the IPv6 source interface or IP address used for Layer‑3 VXLAN Network Identifier (L3VNI) communication.

Under Multipath Hash Settings, configure the following parameters:

IPv4 Multipath Hash—Select the hash algorithm from the dropdown to determine how IPv4 multicast traffic is distributed across multiple paths

IPv6 Multipath Hash—Select the hash algorithm from the dropdown to determine how IPv6 multicast traffic is distributed across multiple paths.
The following are the available options for IPv4 Multipath Hash and IPv6 Multipath Hash:

Source Hash— Uses only the multicast source address as the hashing key to distribute multicast traffic across multiple paths.

Source Group Hash—Uses both the multicast source address and the multicast group address as the hashing key to evenly distribute multicast traffic across multiple paths.

Click Create.
The newly created Multicast Global profile is displayed in the Multicast Global list.
Modifying a Multicast Global Profile
To edit a profile, complete the following steps:

In the Multicast Global table, hover over the row you want to edit and click the edit icon.

Edit the parameters as required.

Click Update.
Deleting a Multicast Global Profile
To delete a profile, hover over the profile name and click the delete icon.
