Route Maps Profile

Route maps allow you to configure filtering criteria. You can configure this criteria by defining a set of rules or match statements with a permit or deny condition. A route map includes a series of match statements to determine if a route matches criteria defined in the statement.

Use this criteria to apply the permit or deny rule accordingly. You can also configure an additional set of parameters to adjust the attributes and metrics for routes that match the criteria defined in the match statement.

Creating a Route Maps Profile

To create a Route Maps profile, complete the following steps:

In the HPE Aruba Networking Central landing page, click the configurationicon.
The Profiles tab is displayed.
In the left navigation menu, select one of the following options:
- Library—This is the default selection. If you create profiles in the Library, then you must assign scope and device functions to the profiles. For more information, see Assigning Scope to a Route Maps Profile.
- Global—If you create profiles at the Global level, then the profiles have Global scope assigned by default.
- Site Collections—If you create profiles at the Site Collections level, then the profiles have site collection scope assigned by default.
- Sites—If you create profiles at the Site level, then the profiles have site scope assigned by default.
- Devices—If you create profiles at the Device level, then the profiles have device scope assigned by default.
- Device Groups—If you create profiles at the Device Group level, then the profiles have device group scope assigned by default.
Note:
- To create profiles at the Global level, select the device type from the Device Function drop-down list before step 4.
- To create profiles at the Site Collections, Sites, Devices, and Device Group level, complete the following steps before step 4:
  1. Select Site Collection, Site, Device, or Device Group in the left navigation menu.
  2. Select a Site Collection, Site, Device, or Device Group from the list view depending on the level where you are creating the profile.
  3. Select the device type from the Device Function drop-down list.
On the Routing & Overlays card, click Route Maps.
Alternatively, you can complete the following steps:
1. On the Routing & Overlays card, click Manage.
2. On the Route Maps card, click Manage.
The Route Maps list view is displayed.
Click Create Profile.
The Create Profile side panel is displayed.
Configure the Route Maps profile parameters:
- Create as a local profile—Select this checkbox if you want to configure this profile as local.
  
  Note:
  The Create as a local profile checkbox is available at the Global, Site Collections, Sites, Devices, and Device Groups levels. It is not available at the Library level.
- Name—Enter the name of the Route Maps profile.
- Description—Enter the description for the Route Maps profile.
Click Create.
To add a policy, click the ellipsis icon, and then click Add Policy.

The Add Route Map Policy side panel is displayed.
In the Action section, select Permit or Deny as applicable.
In the Match Conditions section, configure the following parameters as applicable:
- Under the General criterias section, select the following checkboxes as applicable:
  - IP Address Prefix List—If selected, the Prefix Name drop-down is displayed.
    - Select an IPv4 prefix list name from the Prefix Name drop-down menu.
  - IP Address Next Hop—If selected, the Next Hop Type drop-down and the IP Address text field are displayed.
    - Select a next hop type from the Next Hop Type drop-down menu.
    - Enter the IPv4 address in the IP Address text field.
  - IP Address Route Source Prefix List—If selected, the Prefix Name drop-down is displayed.
    - Select a prefix name from the Prefix Name drop-down menu.
  - IPv6 Next Hop—If selected, the Next Hop Type drop-down and the IP Address text field are displayed.
    - Select a next hop type from the Next Hop Type drop-down menu.
    - Enter the IPv6 address in the IP Address text field.
  - Source Protocol—If selected, the Source Protocol drop-down is displayed.
    - Select a source protocol from the Source Protocol drop-down menu.
  - Metric—If selected, the Metric text field is displayed.
    - Enter the value within the set range in the Metric text field.
- Under the OSPF criterias section, select the OSPF External Router Type checkbox. If selected, the External Router Type drop-down is displayed.
  - Select the external router type from the External Router Type drop-down menu.
- Under the BGP criterias section, select the following checkboxes as applicable:
  - AS Path List—If selected, the Select List drop-down is displayed.
    - Select an AS path list from the Select List drop-down menu.
  - Community List—If selected, the Select List drop-down is displayed.
    - Select an community list from the Select List drop-down menu.
  - Extended Community List—If selected, the Select List drop-down is displayed.
    - Select an extended community list from the Select List drop-down menu.
  - Local Preference Path Attribute—If selected, the Path Attribute text field is displayed.
    - Enter the path attribute in the Path Attribute text field.
  - Origin Code—If selected, the Select Code drop-down is displayed.
    - Select an origin code from the Select Code drop-down menu.
- Under the VXLAN criterias section, select the VNI checkbox. If selected, the VNI text field is displayed.
  - Enter the VNI in the VNI text field.
Under Switch Parameters, configure the following parameters:
- Match Tag—If selected, the Match Tag text field is displayed.
  - Enter the tag within the set range in the Match Tag text field.
- Interface—If selected, the Source Interface drop-down is displayed.
  - Select the source interface from the Source Interface drop-down menu.
In the Set Actions section, configure the following parameters as applicable:
- Local Preference—If this checkbox is selected, the Select Preference text field is displayed.
  - Enter the preference in the Select Preference text field.
- IP Address Next Hop—If this checkbox is selected, the IP Address text field is displayed.
  - Enter the IPv4 address in the IP Address text field.
- Metric—If this checkbox is selected, the Metric text field is displayed.
  - Enter the value within the set range in the Select Preference text field.
- Metric Type—if selected, the Metric drop-down is displayed.
  - Select the metric type code from the Metric drop-down menu.
- Origin—If selected, the Origin drop-down is displayed.
  - Select the origin from the Origin drop-down menu.
- Weight—If selected, the Weight text field is displayed.
  - Enter a value within the set range in the Weight text field.
- Tag—If selected, the Tag text field is displayed.
  - Enter a value within the set range in the Tag text field.
- Under the Dampening Attributes section, select the Set Dampening checkbox. If selected, the Max Suppress Time, Reuse, Half Life, and Suppress Limit text fields are displayed.
  - Enter the required parameters in the text fields.
- Under the BGP Attributes section, select the following checkboxes as applicable:
  - Extended As Path—If selected, the Extended As Path text field is displayed.
    - Enter the path in the Extended As Path text field.
  - Prepend As Path—If selected, the Prepend As Path text field is displayed.
    - Enter the path in the Prepend As Path text field.
  - Community—If selected, the Action section and the Select Community Type drop-down is displayed.
    - Select Add Community or Delete Community in the Action section.
    - Select the community to be added or deleted from the Select Community Type drop-down menu.
  - Extended Community Route Target—If selected, the Format text field is displayed.
    - Enter the value in the Format text field.
- Under the EVPN Attributes section, select the EVPN Router's MAC checkbox. If selected, the MAC Address text field is displayed.
  - Enter the MAC address in the MAC Address text field.
Click Create.

To delete a Route Map profile, hover over the profile name, and click the delete icon.
To delete a Route MAP policy, hover over the applicable policy under the related profile and click the delete icon.
To search for a profile, type the profile name in the search bar.
The search bar displays dynamic results as soon as you start typing.

Assigning Scope to a Route Maps Profile

You must assign a scope and device function to a Route Maps profile created in the Library.

To assign scope to a profile, complete the following steps:

In the HPE Aruba Networking Central landing page, click the configurationicon.
The Profiles tab is displayed.
Ensure that the default option Library is selected in the left navigation menu.
On the Routing & Overlays card, click Route Maps.
Alternatively, you can complete the following steps:
1. On the Routing & Overlays card, click Manage.
2. On the Route Maps card, click Manage.
The Route Maps list view is displayed.
Hover on the profile to which you want to assign a scope and click the ellipsis icon.
Select Assign.

The Assign Profile side panel is displayed.
Select the device types from Device Function list.
To add a scope, click the Add icon on the Scopes table.
Select a scope from the following Scope Level options in the drop-down list.
- Global—Selecting this option assigns the scope at the Global level.
- Site Collections—Select the site collections from the Assign to Scope drop-down list.
- Sites—Select the sites from the Assign to Scope drop-down list.
- Devices—Select the devices from the Assign to Scope drop-down list.
- Device Groups—Select the device groups from the Assign to Scope drop-down list.
Click Add.

The Scopes table displays the newly added scopes.
Click Assign.

The Route Map list displays the device functions and number of scopes assigned to the profile.
To unassign a scope from a profile, complete the following steps:
1. Hover on the profile name and click the ellipsis icon.
2. Select Unassign.
3. Select the required scope and click Unassign.
To customize the Route Maps profile list, click the Customize Columns icon.
