Capacity Planning Report Format

The Capacity Planning report supports the following KPIs:

Based on the KPIs and the format selected while creating a report, the data in the Capacity Planning report are available in the view listed below.

  • List view—Displays the selected KPI in list format.

  • Bar-chart view—Displays the selected KPI in bar-chart format.

  • Donut view—Displays the selected KPI in donut-chart format.

The report displays up to 100 entries for each KPI. The following topic describes the parameters present in the KPI of Capacity Planning report.

Report Header

The report header contains the following parameters:

Parameter

Description

Name of the report

Displays the name of the report.

Report Type

Displays the type of the report.

Scope

Displays the context in which the report is generated. For example, at a global-level, site-level, or multiple-site-level.

Report Period

Displays the time span for which the report is generated.

Generated On

Displays the date and time when the report is completed.

Top Device Interfaces by Usage

List View

Displays the average transmitted throughput for the given report period.

Avg Tx Throughput

Displays the average received throughput for the given report period.

Max Rx Throughput

Displays the maximum received throughput for the given report period.

Max Tx Throughput

Displays the maximum transmitted throughput for the given report period.

Total % of Time

Displays the total percentage of time.

Total Duration

Displays the total duration of time.

Top Sites by Capacity

List View

Devices Exceeding Threshold

Displays the number of devices that exceed capacity threshold.

Device Interfaces by % of Utilization

The Device Interfaces by % of Utilization KPI is available for only switches and gateways in bar chart view.

Bar-Chart View

The Device Interfaces by % of Utilization KPI displays the number of interfaces found for different device capacity ranges.

Device Capacity Summary

List View

Total No. Of Interface Above Configured Threshold

Displays the total number of interfaces that exceed the capacity threshold.

Top Switches by Unused Ports

Displays the number of ports used on the switch during the report duration.

Displays the number of unused ports on the switch during the report duration.

Switches By Port Availability

Donut View

The Switches By Port Availability KPI provides a count of all ports on all switches at the selected scope that are used or unused. The data displayed in this report is point-in-time data based on when the report was generated.

Unused Switch Ports by Type

Donut View

The Unused Switch Ports by Type KPI provides a count of all ports on all switches at the selected scope that are unused and 1GHz, 2.5GHz, 5GHz, 10GHz, or others. The data displayed in this report is point-in-time data based on when the report was generated.

Unused Switch Ports by Duration

Donut View

The Unused Switch Ports by Duration KPI provides a count of all ports on all switches at the selected scope that are unused and for how long. The data displayed in this report is point-in-time data based on when the report was generated.
