Creating a Pre-defined Report
Pre-defined reports allows users to create one report based on the existing pre-defined categories.

Selecting the Report Type and KPIs
To create a pre-defined report, complete the following steps:

In the HPE Aruba Networking Central landing page, click the menu
icon to open the Menu page. -
In the Reports card, click Manage.
The Reports page in the list view is displayed.

Click Create Report.
The Create Report page is displayed.

In the Content page, select Pre-defined.
-
Under Select a Report, select one of the report types from the displayed categories.
By default, all the KPIs are selected for a selected report category.

You can manually deselect KPIs for the selected report type. Click Next.
The Preference page is displayed.
Note:After selecting a report type (KPIs), if the Device Type parameter is not displayed on the Preferences page, the Include Devices drop-down menu lists all device types, including access points, gateways, and switches, regardless of whether the selected report type (KPIs) supports a specific device type. For example, when the RF Health report type is selected, which is applicable only to access points, the Include Devices drop-down menu still displays switches and gateways along with access points.

In Scope, select one of the available options to set the scope of the report:

Global—Creates a report for a global context, that is, for all sites.

Sites—Creates a report for a single or multiple sites. You can select only up to 10 sites.
By default, the Sites option is selected.

In Device Type, select at least one of the following device types:

Access Points—Creates a report for access points for a single site, multiple sites, or all sites.

Switches—Creates a report for switches for a single site, multiple sites, or all sites.
-
Gateways—Creates a report for gateways for a single site, multiple sites, or all sites.
By default, the Access Points option is selected.

In the Additional Preferences section, click the
icon. The Additional Preferences pop-up window opens.

Under Additional Filters, select the Include Devices and Exclude Devices check boxes.
Note:The Include Devices option is available for Client Session, Client Inventory, Capacity Planning, Inventory, Resource Utilization, Device Uptime, Network Usage, and RF Health reports.
The Exclude Devices option is available for Client Inventory, Network Usage, Capacity Planning, Resource Utilization, Device Uptime, and RF Health reports.
The Capacity Threshold and Percentage of time meeting the threshold options are available for Top Devices by Capacity and Top Sites by Capacity KPIs. This option is currently available for switches and gateways.
The Include Clients, Exclude Clients, Include SSID, Include Client Vendor, Include Client Role, and Include Client ModelOS options are available for Client Session and Client Inventory reports.
The Include WLANs is available for Top WLANs Throughput Trend, Top WLANs by Usage, and Top Clients by WLAN Usage KPIs under Network Usage reports.

Under Additional Columns, select the relevant columns and click Apply.
Note:The list of columns that are displayed depends on the KPIs that are selected on the Content page.
The PDF reports display a maximum of 10 columns per table, including the mandatory and default columns.

From the Select a device drop-down menu, select the relevant devices and click the
icon to add it.Note:This option ensures that the report is created exclusively for the selected devices.
The list of devices displayed depends on the selection in the Scope and Device Type sections.
The following table lists the different preference options available for each report category.

Customizing Report Content
HPE Aruba Networking Central allows you to customize the report content. After selecting the preferred options in the Content and Preference pages, complete the following steps to customize the report:

Click Customise Report Content in the Preference page.
The Customize Report Content page opens.

Customize visual layout of the report by dragging to re-order the widgets and select a desired visual element from the view selector icons available in each card.

Click the following icons to select the necessary report format for all the KPIs:

List view—Click the
icon to select the list view. -
Donut-chart view—Click the
icon to select the donut-chart view. -
Bar-chart view—Click the
icon to select the bar-chart view. -
Trend-chart view—Click the
icon to select the trend-chart view. -
Multi view—Click the
icon to select the both list and donut-chart or bar-chart view depending on the KPI selected.

To delete a KPI, click the
delete icon. You may click Undo to undo the deletion. -
Click Save.
Scheduling the Report
HPE Aruba Networking Central allows you to schedule the report for a specific period of time. After selecting the preferred options in the Content and Preference pages, complete the following steps to schedule the report:

Click Next in the Preference page.
The Schedule options are displayed.

In Schedule, under Report over period, select one of the following options:
-
Last Day—Creates a report for a day for now, on a particular day, or recurring.
-
Last Week—Creates a report for a week for now, on a particular date in the week, or recurring every week for a particular day or every month for a particular date.
-
Last Month—Creates a report for every month for now, on a particular date in a month, or recurring every month for a particular date.

Custom Range—Creates a report for a time period within the last 90 days, including the current date. Define a date interval in From and To options. This can be used only for historical data. It is not possible to set report ranges for dates in the future.
Note:A minimum value of one hour can be set using the Custom Range option.
Based on the selected schedule, further options are displayed to create a report with more details.

Optionally, toggle the Advanced Time Slicing option and select the following options:

From the Days over the week, select the days for which the report needs to be created.

From the From and To options, select the time range.

In Report Schedule, under Recurrence, select one of the following options:
-
One Time (Now)—Creates a report for the current time.
-
One Time (Later)—Creates a report either for today or a later date for a particular time.
-
Recurring—Creates a recurring report for every day, week, or a month.

Based on the selection in Recurrence, the following options are displayed:

Recurrence—Select a schedule for the report for the current time, later time, every day, every week, or every month.
Note:To get reports spanning the previous calendar month, set the following fields:
- Report Over Period: Last Month
- Recurrence: Recurring
- Frequency: Every Month
- Run Day: 1

Frequency—Select the frequency of the report from the following options:

Last Day

Last Week
-
Last Month
-
Custom Range
Note:Based on your selection in Reports Over Period and Recurrence, the options in Frequency varies. You can either select Every Day, Every Week, or Every Month.

Run Day—Select a specific day in every week or a specific date in every month, for which you want to schedule the report creation.
Note:When you select a frequency of Every Month, you can only select day 1–28 as the Run Day.

Run Time—Select the time for which you want to schedule the report.

End Date—Select the end date of the report.
Note:By default, the End Date is set to six months. A maximum selection period of up to one year is permitted.

In Report Details, in Report Name, enter the report name.

In Email Recipients, enter an email address to receive the report over an email.

In Format, select CSV, PDF, or both the checkboxes to receive the report over an email.

Click Preview Report Content.
The Preview Report Content displays the output based on the input provided in the Content, Preference, and Schedule pages. This content in the widgets is for preview purposes and does not display the actual report content.

To close the preview, click Close X.

Click Create. The created report displays on top of the Reports table.

You can click the name of the report and it displays all the details of the report.

You can view, delete, or download the report by hovering over an entry in the Run time and Status table.

The Reports table is sorted automatically based on the Created By column.
