Viewing Network Information with Service as a Sun

To view the network information with service as a Sun, complete the following steps:

  1. On the HPE Aruba Networking Central landing page, select a site from the Sites menu.

    The Site dashboard is displayed with network, clients, applications, security, and alerts information for the site.

  2. Alternatively, you can click the Expand icon on the Sites menu to search for a site from the list.

  3. Click the required site name from the search results.

  4. Click Applications.

    The Applications dashboard is displayed in the default List view.

  5. On the Applications dashboard, click the Summary icon.

    The Applications dashboard is displayed in the Summary view.

  6. Click the Expand icon to view the Application Service Discovery card in an expanded view.

  7. From the Application Service Discovery list, click on the infrastructure devices count in the Infra Devices column.

    The Network planet is displayed in the Application dashboard, with the selected service as a Sun.

The following table describes the columns in the list view.

    Table 1: Devices Details

    Column

    Description

    Name

    Displays the device health icon, device name, and device status. The following device health icons are displayed:

    • —The device is in good health.

    • —The device is in fair health based on the device metrics. For example, an AP is in fair health when one or more radio metrics of the AP such as the channel utilization, noise floor, and channel quality are fair.

    • —The device is either offline or in poor health based on the device metrics. For example, an AP is in poor health when it is either offline, or when one or more AP metrics such as the CPU, memory, radio channel utilization, radio noise floor, and radio channel quality is poor.

    Usage

    Displays the data usage for the network device for the selected application within the time frame specified.

    Type

    Displays the device icon, device type, virtual controller name (when applicable), and device topology.

    MAC Address

    Displays the MAC address of the device.

    IP Address

    Displays the IP address of the device.

    Model

    Displays the device model name.

    Serial Number

    Displays the device serial number.

    Software Version

    Displays the software version installed on the device.

Time Range

On the Devices dashboard, the Time Range allows you to view and analyze historical data of the devices.

You can change the time range by selecting one of the following options from the Time Range drop-down list:

  • Last 3 hours

  • Last 1 day

  • Last 7 days

Search Bar

In the Devices page, you can enter keywords in the search bar to find a specific device from the Devices table.

Additionally, you can use the quick filters to filter devices based on Type and Application State. To filter devices by Type, you can choose either Access Point, Gateway, Switch, or all the options. To filter devices by Application State, you can choose either Active, Inactive, or select both options.

Note:

The search is supported only for the device Name column.

Filters

In the Devices page, click the filter icon to view the Filters pop-up window that allows you to filter devices based on Model and Software Version.

To remove the filters from the Filters pop-up window, click Clear and then click Apply. Additionally, you can click Clear Filters in the Devices page to remove the filters.

Table Utilities

You can sort, customize the column visibility, and adjust the width of the columns displayed in the table, as required.

  • To sort a column either in ascending or descending, complete the following steps:

    1. Click the column name that you wish to sort.

    2. Perform either of the following:

      • To sort in ascending order, click the up arrow icon.

      • To sort in descending order, click the down arrow icon.

  • To adjust the width of the columns, complete the following steps:

    1. Hover over the left or right edge of the column that you want to adjust.

      You can identify the edge of the column when the mouse pointer changes to the adjust shape.

    2. Click and drag the edge to adjust the width of the column.

  • To customize columns, reset column sizes, and export table data, complete the following steps:

    1. Click the Table Menu icon.

      The Actions menu is displayed.

    2. Click Customize Columns.

      The Customize Columns pop-up window is displayed.

      1. Complete either or both of the following steps as required:

        • Select the column names to enable or disable the visibility of that column in the table.

        • Click and hold the action icon next to the column you wish to move, and drag it to a new position.

        • Click Apply.

        • Click Reset to Defaults to clear the column visibility settings.

      2. Click Reset Column Sizes to reset the column widths.

      3. Click Export to export the Application table data.
