Viewing Hosts in the List View

The Hosts list view is displayed on the site dashboard in the site context. In the list view, you can get insights about the overall status of all the hosts at a site.

Note:

Ensure that you have installed the vSphere extension. For more information see Installing the vSphere Extension.

To navigate to the list view, complete the following steps:

  1. In the HPE Aruba Networking Central landing page, select a site having at least one active virtual machine from the Sites menu.

    Alternatively, you can click the expand icon on the Sites menu to search for a site from the list.

    The site dashboard is displayed with the network and connectivity information for the site.

  2. In the site context, click Hosts.

    The compute dashboard is displayed.

  3. Click the Hosts tab.

    Note:

    The Hosts tab is selected by default.

    The Hosts list view is displayed.

The following table describes the columns in the Hosts list.

Column

Description

Name

Displays the name of the host, set in vSphere.

  • —This icon indicates that health is good and there are no issues in the connection for the host. The value corresponding to this icon indicates the number of hosts present in this status.

  • —This icon indicates that health is fair and there are minor issues in the connection for the host. The value corresponding to this icon indicates the number of hosts present in this status.

  • —This icon indicates that health is poor and there are critical issues in the connection for the host. The value corresponding to this icon indicates the number of hosts present in this status.

  • —This icon indicates that the host is offline. The value corresponding to the icon indicates the number of virtual machines that are offline.
Model Displays the server model of the host.
Management IPv4 Address Displays the IPv4 address (or list of IPv4 addresses) of the management interface.
OS Displays the host operating system.
Management MAC Address Displays the MAC address (or list of MAC addresses) of the management interface.
Management IPv6 Address Displays the IPv6 address (or list of IPv6 addresses) of the management interface.
Type Display the host types, such as ESXi, Hyper-V, and so on.
Serial Number Displays the serial number of the host
Note:

The Management MAC Address, Management IPv6 Address, Type, and Serial Number columns are not visible by default and need to be enabled using the customize columns option. For more information, see Table Utilities.

Clicking on a host allows you to view additional information about the selected host. For more information, see Viewing Host-Specific Information in Side Bar.
