What are Day-2 operations?

  • Day-0—Device onboarding

  • Day-1—Deployment and configuration

  • Day-2—Ongoing operations such as monitoring, reporting, troubleshooting, visibility, and AI-driven insights used for day-to-day network operations

What is changing with Day-2 operations in Classic Central?

Day-2 operations (monitoring, reporting, troubleshooting, and AI-driven workflows) are being transitioned from Classic Central to HPE Aruba Networking Central. These capabilities will no longer be available in Classic Central and will be supported exclusively in the Central experience.

Will Classic Central APIs continue to be available after the Day‑2 workflow transition?

Yes. The transition of Day‑2 workflows (monitoring, reporting, troubleshooting, visibility, and AI‑driven insights) from Classic Central to HPE Aruba Networking Central does not impact the availability of Classic Central APIs.

Classic Central APIs will continue to be available. You can continue using these APIs for integrations, automation, and operational workflows.

What functionality will no longer be available in Classic Central?

After the transition, Classic Central will no longer support:

  • Monitoring and network visibility

  • Reporting and analytics

  • Troubleshooting workflows

  • AI-driven and automated operations

These capabilities will be available only in HPE Aruba Networking Central.

What functionality will remain available in Classic Central?

  • Device onboarding

  • Initial device configuration (Day-0 and Day-1 operations)

Will configuration workflows also move from Classic Central to HPE Aruba Networking Central?

No. Configuration workflows will continue to remain available in Classic Central. Only Day‑2 operations such as monitoring, reporting, troubleshooting, and AI‑driven insights are moving exclusively to HPE Aruba Networking Central experience.

You can continue using Classic Central for:

  • Onboarding

  • Configuration workflows

  • Device setup and provisioning

What do I need to do to continue using monitoring and troubleshooting features?

  1. Create sites in HPE Aruba Networking Central.

  2. Assign your devices to those sites.

Will my devices, data, or subscriptions be affected?

No. Devices and subscriptions remain associated with your organization. The change affects where you access Day-2 workflows (migrating from Classic Central to HPE Aruba Networking Central). As long as you have created sites and assigned devices, you can continue Day‑2 operations in HPE Aruba Networking Central.

What benefits do I get by moving Day‑2 operations to HPE Aruba Networking Central?

HPE Aruba Networking Central is AI‑native and designed for proactive operations. You will get:

  • Intelligent automation and predictive insights.

  • A simplified, modern WebUI for faster troubleshooting.

  • Consistent Day‑2 workflows across your network.

Will there be any downtime?

No downtime is expected for onboarding or configuration. Day-2 workflows will continue to be available through HPE Aruba Networking Central.

What happens to my floorplans as Day-2 workflows transition from Classic Central to HPE Aruba Networking Central? Do I need to migrate them before the transition date?

You can migrate floorplans from Classic Central to HPE Aruba Networking Central using any of the following options, even during the transition window:

  • Site-level or Global-level migration—You can initiate floorplan migration at either the Site level or the Global level directly from HPE Aruba Networking Central. This option remains available even if the Classic Central WebUI is not accessible during the transition window.

  • Migration banner in Classic Central—A banner in Classic Central WebUI will prompt users to migrate floorplans ahead of the transition.

What should I do if a configuration feature in Classic Central is not available in HPE Aruba Networking Central?

Some configuration capabilities available in Classic Central may not yet appear in the HPE Aruba Networking Central WebUI. If a feature is not available, you can use the following options:

  • Use the HPE Aruba Networking Central APIs—Many configuration features not yet available in the WebUI are supported through the HPE Aruba Networking Central Configuration API. You can continue managing your configuration using the APIs until the corresponding UI feature becomes available. The API details are available here.

  • If the feature is not available in the WebUI or the APIs—Contact your HPE Aruba Networking account team for the latest updates and alternatives.
