Account Level Floorplan Migration (Migrating Multiple Sites Floorplan Data)

HPE Aruba Networking Central supports migration of multiple sites floorplan data for the user at account level from Classic Central. Migration is the process of transferring floorplan data from Classic Central to HPE Aruba Networking Central. This encompasses essential elements such as the floorplan, devices situated on the floor, walls, and regions, as well as the planned access points on different floors in various sites available at the account level.

Note:

The Global/ Account-Level Migration option is available only to admin, view edit, or custom role users who have full site-scope access. For more information on RBAC, see Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).

The migration workflow is similar to importing a floorplan. For example, if a device is not present in a site, it will get converted to a planned AP and a non-supported device will get converted to AP-635 access point.

Note:
  • This multi-site migration from Classic Central to HPE Aruba Networking Central is a one-time activity.

  • The migrate option is available only if the user account has Classic Central VisualRF floormaps.

  • The last backup data in Classic Central is used for migration.

  • The time taken for migration depends on the size of the floorplan data in Classic Central.

  • Migration is an independent operation and does not impact any other configuration in HPE Aruba Networking Central. However, you cannot import a floorplan during the process of migration.

  • Any changes made after migration in a site in Classic Central will not be reflected in HPE Aruba Networking Central. However, you can import floorplans by exporting from Classic Central.

    • After a successful site import operation using the import wizard, users must refresh the page to display all floor and device information.

  • The option to migrate multiple sites will not be available once the migration is successful.

  1. In the HPE Aruba Networking Central landing page, click the menu icon to open the Menu page.

  2. In the Floor Plan Management card, click Manage.

The Floor Plan Management page is displayed.

  3. Click Migrate.

A dialog box appears for confirmation.

  4. Click Migrate to start the account-level migration.

The status of the migration is displayed in the banner and the Migrate button changes to View Summary once the migration is initiated.

Note:
  • The Migrate button is only available when the user account has Classic Central VisualRF floormaps in the account.

  • Any changes made after migration in a site in Classic Central will not be reflected in HPE Aruba Networking Central. If you want to migrate any site after the user level migration is done, you must perform a site migration or you can import a site. For more information, see Site Level Floorplan Migration and Importing Floors.

  • If the migration fails, you cannot re-initiate the migration.

  1. Click View Summary to see the detailed status of migration for each site present in the user account.

A dialog box appears with the Site Name and Migration Status. You can use the search bar to search for any site for which you want to check the migration status.
