Heatmap
A heatmap is a graphical representation of the RF data where values are depicted by color codes on the floorplan. The color varies per the intensity of the signal strength of the radios. In HPE Aruba Networking Central the heatmap is measured based on radio status, Tx power, floor ceiling height, AP model, radio band, walls, and associated wall types.
The range defined for the signal strength in the network ranges between:

Excellent: 0dBm through -55dBm

Good: -55dBm through -67dBm

Fair: -67dBm through -75dBm
-
Poor: -75dBm through -90dBm
Heatmap padding can be seen up to 15 meter outside the floorplan. You can zoom in and zoom out the heatmap to view the additional heatmap padding outside the floorplan. You can filter the heatmap through the Layers panel. Click the stack
icon to display the Layers panel. Based on the selected options, the heatmap is displayed.
The Heatmap Information drop-down list has the following three options:

None— If you select None, the floorplan does not display any heatmap information.

Signal Strength—Select this option to display signal strength based on the bandwidth available on the selected floor. The following filters are made available:

Band—Use this filter to view APs operating in the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHZ, or 6 GHz channels.

Signal Bleed-Through—Use this filter to view signal availability from APs on the floors directly below or above the selected floor.
Note: Ensure that all floorplans are aligned and have the same dimensions to view Signal Bleed-Through accurately. -
Signal Cutoff—Use the slide bar to set the coverage area of the signal strength as excellent, good, fair, and poor on the selected floor.

Channel Occupancy—This option enables you to avoid any kind of channel collision between two nearby APs on the floor. Each AP on the floorplan has its own channel in respect to their bands such as, 2.4 GHz has some allocated channel occupancy whereas, 6 GHz band will has some other allocated channel occupancy. If two APs share the same channel on the floorplan, an overlap area occurs. Selecting the options available within this drop-down list, enables you to know if there is channel overlap and accordingly allows you to fix the overlapping areas by either moving the channels or by changing the channel numbers. You can view the channels based on band, signal cutoff, and the type of APs available on the floor by selecting the filters from the respective drop-down list.
When you select Channel Occupancy from the Heatmap drop-down list, few fields become visible on the Layers panel:

Channel Width—This displays the bandwidth that the wireless channel occupies on the floorplan.

Channel Overlap—This option displays if there is channel overlap on the floorplan based on your selection.

Visible Channels—This displays the available channels present for each deployed on the floorplan. You can deselect the channels from the list if you do not want to display them on the floorplan. Each channel is represented in different color. By default, all the channels are selected.
Note:Visible channels only display the channel numbers that are available for an AP. It does not display all the channels of the selected band.

Additionally, you can also filter the floorplan heatmap based on the list of Overlay Objects available. Here you can deselect the attribute which you do not want to display on the floorplan. By default, all the attributes are selected.
The floorplan dashboard displays the heatmap for only deployed devices on the floor.
