Convert Planned APs to Real APs on the Floorplan

You can automatically convert a planned AP on the floor to a real AP. To convert a planned AP to a real AP, click Match and Replace Access Points from the Action drop-down list at the floorplan manager. If the name of the AP, MAC address, or the serial number of the planned AP matches with the real AP, the replace action is triggered.

Additionally, you can also edit the properties of a planned AP to match with any real AP on the floor. To change the properties of a planned AP, select the AP and then click the edit icon on the side panel. The Planned Access Point side panel appears with the following fields:

• Name—Edit the name of the planned AP to match a real AP on the floor.

• MAC Address—Add MAC address of a real AP.

• Model—Select the desired AP model from the drop-down list.

• Serial Number—Add serial number of a real AP.

• Radios

  • Under Radios, you can enable the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz radio power. You can also edit the TX Power (dBm) and Channel for the planned AP.

    Note:

    • The fields Beam Width (Degree), Orientation(Degree), and Antenna Gain (dBi) are visible only if the AP supports external antenna.

    • Based on the AP, configuration the properties will be visible on the side panel.

After editing the AP properties, you can click Match and Replace Access Points from the Action drop-down list at the floorplan manager to convert the planned AP to a real AP.
