WAN Tunnels

The WAN Tunnels card displays the number of WAN tunnels and their health status for a gateway.

When the following alerts are generated, the tunnel is down, the health status is poor, and the health reason is that the tunnel is not established.

  • Gateway Tunnel Flap Detected

  • Gateway IPSec SA Establishment Failure

You can click on the expand icon on the WAN Tunnels card to view additional details for each WAN tunnel. The expanded view of WAN Tunnels card displays the following details:

Parameter

Description

Name

Displays the name of the WAN tunnel along with their health status as follows:

  • —Tunnel is up.

  • —Tunnel is down.

Mode

Displays the configuration mode of WAN tunnels. For example, IKE or Orchestrated.

Source IP Address

Displays the source IP address.

Destination IP Address

Displays the source IP address.

Uptime

Displays the total time duration that the WAN tunnel has been operational.

You can filter WAN tunnels depending on your criteria. You can either use keywords (name, gateway model, or any other device information) in the search bar to search any specific WAN tunnel(s).

Click the customize columns icon to adjust the visibility and position of columns in the WAN Tunnels table.

You can also use the quick filters to filter WAN tunnels as per their health status (Up or Down) to search for any specific WAN tunnel(s).

WAN Tunnel Details

To view the details of WAN tunnels, click on a WAN tunnel listed on the WAN Tunnels page.

The WAN tunnel page displays the following details:

  • Properties—The Properties section displays the following details:

    • Port—Displays the port number of the gateway.

    • WAN Interface—Displays the name of the WAN interface.

    • VLAN—Displays the VLAN number.

    • MTU—Displays the Maximum Transmission Unit (MTU) for the tunnel.

    • Authentication—Displays the type of authentication.

    • Encryption—Displays the type of encryption.

    • Uptime—Displays the total time duration that the device has been operational.

    • Peer IP Address—Displays the IP address of the peer device.

    • Peer Type—Displays the type of peer.

    • In SPI—Displays the inward SPI for the tunnel.

    • Out SPI—Displays the outward SPI for the tunnel.

    • Last Change Reason—Displays the reason for the last change of the tunnel.

    • Next Rekey—Displays the timestamp of the next rekey.

    • Status—Displays the operational state of the WAN tunnel using a color-coded view. The operational states displayed in color-coded view are Up, Partial, Down, Survivability, and Unknown.

  • Usage—The Usage graph displays the received and transmitted throughput, dropped packets. packet loss, latency jitter, and MOS score usage over the last three hours.
