Events card for Site

The Events card on a site dashboard lists the geographical address as the location and the time zone of the site.

The following table lists the Event card parameters.

Parameter

Description

Occurred

Displays the date and timestamp of the event.

To sort the events by date and timestamp, click the sort icon. By default, the events are displayed in the descending order of date and timestamp.

Event

Displays the name of the event.

Category

The category of the event.

Source Type

Indicates the client type as one of the following:

  • Wireless

  • Wired

Source

Displays the hostname of the source client for which the event was generated. You can click the client name to navigate to the client dashboard.

For few events, the Source column displays the client MAC address instead of the client host name.

Description

Displays the description of the event.

Reason

Displays the reason for the reported event.

Attachments

Displays PCAP, crash file, or both files along with the number of downloadable files, during a client failure event.

Note:

This option is available for wireless clients only, and for the following scenarios:

  • Client 802.11 Association Reject

  • Client 802.11 Authentication Failure

  • Client MAC Authentication Failure

  • Client 802.1x Radius Reject

  • Client 802.1x Radius Timeout

  • Client Captive Portal Authentication Failure

  • Client EAP Failure

  • Client DHCP Negative Acknowledge

  • Client DHCP Decline

  • Client DHCP Timeout

You can perform the following actions in the expanded Events card:

  • To view the event description and additional details in the side panel, click the event name in the list. The side panel displays the event name, timestamp, and additional information based on the event category, client, and the AP event.

  • To search for a specific event, type the keywords such as the event name, source, description, client MAC address, reason, or serial number. The search displays dynamic results as soon as you start typing.

  • To filter the information in the list, complete the following steps:

    1. Click the filter icon.

    2. Move the slider on the Occurred timeline to set the time range for the filter.

    3. Select the Category and Source Type.

    4. Select the Event Name. You can also use the Search bar to search for an event.

      Note: For now, switch events are not available for filtering.

    5. Click Apply.

      The filter icon displays the count of the filters applied. You can hover over the filter icon to view the filter conditions applied on the list.

    6. To reset the applied filters, click Clear.

  • To customize the columns in the list, see Viewing Clients in List View.

  • To download the list in CSV format, complete the following list:

    1. Click the table menu icon.

    2. Click Export.
