System

The System card provides an overview of the operational status of the switch at the hardware level.

Note:

The System card is displayed only when the device is online.

The following table lists the System card parameters.

Parameter

Description

CPU

Indicates the average CPU health of the switch. For a stack, this field displays the average CPU health of the conductor.

Listed below are the supported values:

—Good CPU health.

—Poor CPU health

Memory

Indicates the switch memory health. For a stack, this field displays the aggregate memory health of all members. If one of the member's health is poor, this field displays the overall stack's memory health as poor. Listed below are the supported values:

—Good memory health

—Poor memory health

Temperature

Indicates qualitative switch temperature status. Listed below are the supported values:

—Low Temperature

—High Temperature

If a switch does not support temperature, then this field is not displayed.

Fans

Displays the number of fans in the up state. For a stack, this field displays the total number of fans present in the stack. Listed below are the supported values:

—All fans are up.

—One or more fans are down. Hover over the failed count to view details of the fans that are down. For a stack, the details are displayed along with the Member ID.

Power Supplies

Displays the number of power supplies in the up state. For a stack, this field displays the total number of power supplies present in the stack. Listed below are the supported values:

—All power supply units are up.

—One or more power supply units are down. Hover over the failed count to view details of the power supply units that are down. For a stack, the details are displayed along with the Member ID.

Power Consumption

Indicates the total instantaneous power or average power consumed by a switch in watts. For a stack, this field displays the total power consumed or average power consumed by all the members in the stack.

  • The average power consumption is displayed only for the switches running 10.14 or later versions.

  • This field is displayed only for modular AOS-CX switches such as 6400 and 8400 series switches that run AOS-CX 10.13 or later versions and AOS-S switches (except 2930F Switch Series) running 16.11.0018 or later versions.

  • This field is not displayed if there's no power consumed value available for the switch. For a stack of AOS-S switches, this field will not be displayed even when one member in a stack does not support device power.

PoE Capacity

Indicates the total PoE power capacity that the switch can deliver. For a stack, this field displays the total PoE power capacity that all the PoE-supported members in the stack can deliver.

This field is not displayed if a switch does not support PoE or if there is no PoE value available.

PoE Output

Indicates the total PoE power drawn by powered devices that are connected to the switch. For a stack, indicates the total PoE power drawn by powered devices that are connected to the PoE-supported members in the stack.

If a switch does not support PoE, then this field is not displayed.

The expanded System card displays the following graphs. You can hover over the graph to view the tool tip that displays the values at a specific point of date and time. For a stack, separate graphs are displayed for all the members.

  • CPU Utilization—Displays the trend chart for the CPU utilization (%) of the switch. The colored line in the chart represents the CPU utilization and the grey line represents the baseline. If the CPU utilization of the device exceeds the baseline value for more than 15 minutes, then the chart displays an error message indicating high CPU utilization. The time during which a high CPU utilization was observed will also be highlighted in red. The baseline value and the error message are displayed only for AOS-CX switches. In the case of stacks, the error messages are displayed only on the conductor switch.

  • Memory Utilization—Displays the trend chart for the memory utilization (%) of the switch. The colored line in the chart represents the memory utilization and the grey line represents the baseline. If the memory utilization of the device exceeds the baseline value for more than 15 minutes, then the chart displays an error message indicating high memory utilization. The time during which a high memory utilization was observed will also be highlighted in red. The baseline value and the error message are displayed only for AOS-CX switches and conductors in a stack.

  • Temperature—Displays the trend chart for the temperature of the inlet air (°C) of the switch. The colored line in the chart represents the temperature and the grey line represents the baseline. If the temperature of the device exceeds the baseline value for more than 15 minutes, then the chart displays an error message indicating a high temperature . The time during which a high temperature was observed will also be highlighted in red. The baseline value and the error message are displayed only for AOS-CX switches and conductors in a stack.

    Note:

    The temperature chart is not available for AOS-CX 8325 and 8360 Switch Series.

  • Power Consumption—Displays the trend chart for the instantaneous power consumption of the device , PoE power consumption, and total power consumption (in watts) for the switch. For AOS-S switches, only PoE consumption is displayed.

Note:
  • The Temperature and Power Consumption charts will not be displayed for an AOS-S switch if the temperature, PoE, or power consumption values are not available.

  • The Power Consumption chart will not be displayed for a stack of AOS-S switches even when one member in a stack does not support device power.

For a stack, the expanded view displays the separate graphs for each members in the stack. You can either select a member or select tabs for each category to view the graphs. If a member of the stack is down, then the expanded card does not display the details of CPU, Memory, Temperature, Fans, and Power Supplies.
