Adding Static Tags

To create or add static tags, complete the following steps:

  1. Navigate to the Identity Management card in the Central NAC configuration page and click Manage.

    The Identity Store table is displayed.

  2. Click the MAC Address identity store.

    The Edit Identity Store page is displayed. The page lists the details of the MAC address store along with a tabular data of MAC Address, Client Name, Static Tags, and Status.

  3. Hover over the MAC address for which you want to add a static tag. Click the ellipsis icon and click Edit.

    The Edit MAC Address screen is displayed.

  4. Click the Static Tags text box to either choose from the list of available tags or type a new tag name.

    Note:

    Static tag names must start with a letter and can only include letters, numbers, hyphens (-), underscores (_), colons (:), and spaces. If the tag name does not meet these criteria, an error message will be displayed.

  5. Click the Add icon to create a new static tag.

  6. Click Save.

    The MAC Address is updated and is assigned with the static tags under the Static Tags column in the Edit Identity Store page.

    Note:
    • A maximum number of 10 static tags can be assigned to a single MAC address.

    • Central NAC supports up to 10 static tags with Classic Central Foundation and Advanced subscription licenses and up to 400 static tags with HPE Aruba Networking Central NAC subscription licenses.

Unassigning Static Tags

Complete the following steps to unassign a static tag:

  1. In the Edit Identity Store, navigate to the MAC address assigned with static tags.

  2. Hover over the MAC address, click the ellipsis icon, and click Edit.

    The Edit MAC Address screen is displayed.

  3. Navigate to the Static Tags field and click x for the static tag that you want to remove.

    The static tag is removed from the list and is unassigned from the MAC address.

  4. Click Save.

    The MAC Address is updated with this change.
