Adding Visitors

Prerequisites

Ensure to create a visitor identity store before adding visitors. For more information, see Creating an Identity Store.

To add visitors, complete the following steps:

  1. In the HPE Aruba Networking Central landing page, click the Menu icon.

  2. In the Central NAC card, click Manage.

    The NAC Monitoring page is displayed.

  3. Click the Configuration icon and in the Visitors card, click Manage.

  4. Click Add Visitor.

    The Add Visitor Account panel appears.

  5. Configure the following parameters:

    Account Information

    • Username—Enter a name for the visitor.

    • Display Name—This is optional. Enter a display name for the user.

    • Password Type—Select one of the options from Random Password, or Random Passphrase, or Assigned Password. If you choose Assigned Password, you have to provide the given password.

    • Enabled—By default, this check box is selected for enabling the visitor account.

    • Visitor Store—Select a visitor store from the drop-down or click Create Visitor Store if you are yet to create a visitor identity store.

    Contact Information

    • Email Address/Phone Number—Enter a valid email address or phone number.

      Note:

      User will receive an email or SMS with the user's random password or passphrase. Ensure to configure the SMS messaging provider to be able to receive SMS messages.

    Expiration Details

    • Account Expiration—Choose an expiration period for the visitor account from the drop-down list or choose the Select a Date option to set a date from the date picker. The default option is Never.

  6. Click Save.

    A new visitor account is created and is listed in the Visitors page.

  7. Click the Actions button and select the Customize Columns option.

    In the Customize Columns panel, you can choose specific column fields and unselect fields that you do not want to be displayed in the Visitors table.

  8. Click Reset to Defaults to restore the columns.

    The columns are updated and displayed in the visitors table. You can also drag the column border to manually resize columns in the clients table.

  9. To reset the column size, from the Actions button select Reset Column Sizes option.

    The columns are restored to its original width.
