Configuring the CX Switch

To configure an AOS-CX switch, do the following:

  1. Creating a AAA Authentication Profile.

    Note:

    Ensure to choose Central NAC as the Authentication Server Group.

  2. Configuring a Port Profile Interface

  3. Assigning Scope to a AAA Authentication Profile.

    Note:

    Ensure to choose Access Switch from the Device Function list.

    The AAA profile is created and is recorded in the Audit Trail.

  4. To view the event in the Audit Trail, click the Menu icon, navigate to the Audit Trail card and click View.

    The Audit Trail page is displayed which lists all the actions in the network.

  5. Navigate to the HPE Aruba Networking Central landing page, click the configurationicon.

    The Profiles tab is displayed.

  6. In the left navigation menu, select Devices.

    The Devices list view is displayed.

  7. Select a switch from the list.

    The Profiles Management view for the selected switch is displayed.

  8. On the Interfaces card, click Switch Interface Configuration.

    The Switch Interface Configuration list view is displayed. Additionally, the Switch Interface Configuration page displays the faceplate representation of the selected switch.

  9. Click the port name that you want to configure.
    The Configure Interface side panel is displayed.

  10. Select the Use Port Profile checkbox.

  11. Select the specific port profile from the drop-down list.

  12. Click Save.

  13. Create a Switch System Profile and assign a scope. For more information, see Switch System Profile.

  14. Navigate to the Switch Interface Configuration list view and click the port name.

  15. In the Configure Interface side panel, do the following:

    • Select Enable Port.

    • Choose the VLAN Mode as Access.

    • Choose an appropriate VLAN for Access VLAN.

    • Under Authentication, choose the Authentication Protocol.

  16. Click Save.

    The AOS-CX switch is configured.
