Override Profiles

Administrators can override text or messages to provide customized instructions, warnings, or alerts displayed on web portals.

To create an override profile, perform the following steps:

  1. In the HPE Aruba Networking Central landing page, click the Menu icon.

  2. In the Central NAC card, click Manage.

    The NAC Monitoring page is displayed.

  3. Click the Configuration icon.

  4. Navigate to the Portal Customization card and click Manage.

  5. Click Manage in the Override Profiles card.

    The Portal Profiles page is displayed.

  6. Click Create to create an override profile.

  7. In the Create Override Profile page, configure the following parameters:

    • Name—Enter a unique name for the override profile. If the name already exists, an error message is displayed.

    • Description—Enter a short description.

    • Languages—Select languages from the drop-down to provide message overrides.

      For each of the languages selected, the override profile page displays the options for which you can provide an override message.

      Note:

      Foundation Infrastructure licenses can select only one language from the supported list whereas NAC Subscription Licenses can select all supported languages.

    • Fallback Language—Select a fallback language to apply a message override, if the message is not available in the user’s language.

    • Override—In the Override column, you can set a custom override message for each of the available options. For more information on how to set the terms and conditions message, see Creating Terms and Conditions.

      Note:

      Ensure that the override message does not contain any HTML elements such as <!DOCTYPE html>, <html>,<head>, or <body>. Including these elements will result in an error.

  8. Click Create.

    The override profile is created successfully and is listed in the Override Profiles page.

Creating Terms and Conditions

To create a terms and conditions message, perform the following steps:

  1. Open the Create Override Profile page.

  2. Navigate to the Message column and locate the Terms Message. Alternatively, type "terms" in the search bar to quickly locate it.

  3. Click the Terms Message row for the desired language and select Edit. 

    The Edit Message Override screen is displayed.

  4. In the text box, enter the required terms and conditions message and click Apply.

    The message is added and appears under the Override column.

  5. Click Create.

    The new profile is created and listed in the Override Profiles page.
