Managing Static Tags

This section describes the steps to rename and delete static tags for MAC addresses.

  1. Navigate to the Identity Management card in the Central NAC configuration page and click Manage.

    The Identity Store table is displayed.

  2. Click the MAC Address identity store.

    The MAC Registration table is displayed in the Edit Identity Store page. A tabular data of MAC Address, Client Name, Static Tags, and Status fields are listed in the MAC Registration table.

  3. Select Manage Static Tags from the Actions drop-down.

    The Manage Static Tags screen is displayed. The tags that are manually assigned to the MAC addresses are listed in tabular format.

  4. Hover over a static tag, click the ellipsis icon, and choose Rename or Delete options from the pop-up window.

  5. Click Rename.

    The Rename Static Tag pop-up window appears.

  6. Type the name for the static tag and click Save

    The static tag appears with the updated name.

    Note:

    The static tag name cannot exceed 32 characters.

  7. Click Delete.

    The Delete confirmation window appears with a warning message stating that the static tag is associated to a specific MAC address.

    Note:
    • If the static tag is associated to an authorization policy, then the static tag cannot be deleted.

    • If a static tag is associated with one or more MAC addresses, a warning message appears indicating that the static tag is in use. You can still delete the tag if needed.

  8. Click Confirm to delete the static tag.

    The static tag is removed from the Static Tags column in the MAC Registration table.
