Global Network Monitoring Overview

The Global Network Monitoring page or global view serves as a centralized dashboard for monitoring and optimizing network infrastructure across all the sites. Here, you can view the global tables in list and summary view allowing users to monitor and filter data easily.

To access the Global Menu, on the HPE Aruba Networking landing page, click the Network Monitoring icon on the top-right.

The benefits of the Global Menu page are:

  • Centralized comprehensive visibility into network infrastructure and performance.

  • Proactive monitoring and management of network resources across all sites.

  • Better troubleshooting using rapid identification and resolution of network issues.

  • Optimization of network resources and bandwidth utilization.

  • Improved decision-making based on actionable insights and performance metrics.

Planets in Global Menu

You can see the following planets on the Global Menu page:

  • Sites—Displays the total number of sites onboarded. Click to view the Sites table. Sites are sorted by health in descending order. You can also hover over the health bars to see the health percentage or number of devices with that health status. Clicking on the site name, device health count, client count takes you to the respective Site, Device, and Client Dashboard. For more information, see Sites Card.

  • Network—Displays the total number of devices onboarded. Click to view the Devices page. You can quickly filter devices based on status and type. For more information, see Viewing Devices in the List View. To view information for Top Access Points and Radios cards, see Viewing Devices in the Summary View

  • Clients—Displays the total number of clients. Click to view the Clients page. You can quickly filter client based on status and type. You can click the Site hyperlink to quickly navigate to the site where the client is located. For more information, see Viewing Clients in List View and Viewing Clients in Summary View.

  • Security—Displays the total number of blocked sessions within the last fifteen minutes. For more information, see Security Dashboard in a Global Context.

  • Alerts—Displays a high-level visual representation of alert distribution across all sites in the network. It allows you to quickly assess the overall network health and identify sites with active alerts. The Site column in the alert table identifies the specific site where the alert is generated. Cards in Global Menu

You can view the following cards on the Global Menu page:

  • Device Health—Displays the number and corresponding health status of each device type. To view additional device health details for all sites, click the expand icon. For more information, see Device Health Card.

  • Client Health—Displays the client number and corresponding health status assigned to the connection type. To view additional client health details for all sites, click the expand icon. For more information, see Client Health Card.

  • Alerts—The Alerts card provides a quick summary of the top five sites with the highest number of critical alerts, along with a breakdown of alert severity using icons for critical, major, and minor alerts. This helps users quickly identify and prioritize sites based on the severity of issues.

    To view additional alert details for all sites, click the expand icon.

    The expanded alerts view displays a complete list of all sites with detailed severity distribution, enabling deeper analysis, search, and effective troubleshooting across the network. Click on the site name to navigate to the site dashboard. For more information, see Navigating to the Site Dashboard.

    You can use the search bar to search for a site by keywords.

    To customize the table, click the icon to select the required columns, or click Reset to Defaults to reset to the default columns. Select Reset Column Sizes to reset the column size to default values.

  • Client Connectivity Metrics—The Client Connectivity Metrics feature provides a comprehensive view of how clients connect to the network, showing the success rate and a step-by-step breakdown of the connectivity process. It helps identify where clients fail during association, authentication, IP assignment, or DNS resolution. For more information, see Client Connectivity Metrics.

    Click Manage to monitor the firmware status and parameters for onboarded devices. For more information, see Managing Firmware Settings and Monitoring Upgrades .

  • Connectivity Performance—Displays the number of connected clients and their aggregated throughput (in bps) for the last 3 hours. You can also view the performance statistics for 1 Day, 7 Days, or 30 days by selecting it from the drop-down. Click the expand icon to view combined total network throughput and client count over time. On the expanded card, you can hover over the graphs to see the transmitted and received bytes for wired and wireless client types.

  • Events—Displays top 6 sites and categories with the most events with the top category in last 3 hours. To view all the events for all sites and categories, click the expand icon. For more information, see Events Card.
