Live Event Streaming for APs

Stream Radio, VPN, and Spectrum events live from access points. The minimum firmware version required to stream events from an AP is IAP 8.4.

  1. In the HPE Aruba Networking Central landing page, select a site from the Sites menu.

    Alternatively, you can click the expand icon on the Sites menu to search for a site from the list.

    The site dashboard is displayed along with site health, device, and client information.

    • To access the site-level troubleshooting page, click the troubleshooting icon .

    • To access the AP-level troubleshooting page, click Network.
      The Unified Device List (UDL) view is displayed for the site.

      • From the Devices table in list view, click anywhere on the particular device row under the Access Points tab.

        The selected AP panel is displayed on the left.

      • From the Devices table in list view, click on the particular device under the Access Points tab.

        The selected AP context page is displayed.

      • From the Devices table in list view, hover on the particular device under the Access Points tab.

  2. The Troubleshoot page is displayed for the client, and the Tests tab is selected by default in the left panel.

  3. Open the Live Monitoring tab. Select Live Events.

  4. Select Device Events.

  5. If you used the site-level Troubleshoot page, select the target AP from the device drop-down.

  6. Click Start.
    A live event stream is initiated and an event is logged in the Audit Trail. The live event stream ends automatically after 15 minutes. Concurrent live streams are supported but they have to be initiated individually.

  7. Click Stop to end the live stream before 15 minutes pass.
    The end of the live stream is logged in the Audit Trail.

  8. When processing is complete, click Export to save the live stream to your local system as a CSV file.
