Neighbor Table Test for AOS-CX Switches

To perform Neighbor Table test on an AOS-CX switch, complete the following steps:

  1. In the HPE Aruba Networking Central landing page, select a site from the Sites menu.

    Alternatively, you can click the expand icon on the Sites menu to search for a site from the list.

    The site dashboard is displayed along with site health, device, and client information.

  2. Click Network.

    The Unified Device List (UDL) view is displayed for the site.

  3. To access the troubleshooting page for an AOS-CX switch, complete one of the following steps:

    • From the Devices table in list view, click anywhere on the particular device row under Any or Switches tab.

      The selected AOS-CX switch panel is displayed on the left.

    • From the Devices table in list view, click on the particular device under the Switches tab.

      The selected AOS-CX switch context page is displayed.

  4. Click the troubleshooting icon .

    The Troubleshoot page is displayed for the AOS-CX switch, and the Tests tab is selected by default in the left panel.

    Note:

    You can also launch the Troubleshooter by clicking the troubleshooting icon on the Site solar panel.

  5. Under Test, select the Additional tests radio button.

    ARP Table is automatically populated in the additional test field.

  6. Select the Neighbor Table radio button.

  7. Under VRF Name, enter the VRF name.

  8. Click the Show Additional Settings drop-down.

  9. In the IP Address field, enter the required IP address.

  10. In the MAC Address field, enter the MAC address.

  11. Under State, choose from the below options:

    • All

    • Failed

    • Incomplete

    • Permanent

    • Reachable

    • Stale

  12. Click Start Test.

    The Results panel on the right displays the test output.

Note:

To view the test output in the Results panel, you can click the graphical result icon for a visual representation or the CLI result icon for CLI output.

The Results panel contains the following details:

  • Summary Icon—The following table describes the meaning of icons used in the test result.

    Successfully completed—All requests passed successfully.

    Failed—All requests failed.

  • Output Parameter—The following parameters are displayed in the test result:

    • IPv4 address—The IPv4 address of the device.

    • MAC—The MAC address of the device.

    • Port—The port number.

    • Physical Port—The physical interface.

    • State—The status of the device.

  • Graphical Result Icon —Click this icon to view the output in graphical format as displayed in Neighbor Table Test Page—AOS-CX Switch.

  • CLI Result Icon —Click this icon to view the test output in CLI format as displayed in Neighbor Table Test CLI Page—AOS-CX Switch.
