Ping Test for AOS-CX Switches
To perform ping test on an AOS-CX switch, complete the following steps:

In the HPE Aruba Networking Central landing page, select a site from the Sites menu.
Alternatively, you can click the expand
icon on the Sites menu to search for a site from the list.The site dashboard is displayed along with site health, device, and client information.

Click Network.
The Unified Device List (UDL) view is displayed for the site.

To access the troubleshooting page for an AOS-CX switch, complete one of the following steps:

From the Devices table in list view, click anywhere on the particular device row under Any or Switches tab.
The selected AOS-CX switch panel is displayed on the left.

From the Devices table in list view, click on the particular device under the Switches tab.
The selected AOS-CX switch context page is displayed.

Click the troubleshooting icon
.The Troubleshoot page is displayed for the AOS-CX switch, and the Tests tab is selected by default in the left panel.

Under Test, select the Ping radio button.
The Source field is automatically populated with the selected AOS-CX switch name.

In the Destination field, enter the hostname or IP address.

Under the Show Additional Settings, you can:

Turn on the Use Management Interface toggle switch to use VRF management interface. This is disabled by default.
Note:The Use Management Interface parameter is available only for AOS-CX switches.

Select the source type from the Source Type drop-down list.
Note:The source IP address is displayed automatically when you select source IP address as your source type. For source interface, you can select an interface from the source interface drop-down list.

In the VRF Name field, enter the VRF details.

Specify the Packet size in bytes. Range: 10-2000.

Specify the Count (number of probes to send). Range: 1-100.

Click Start Test.
The Results panel on the right displays the test output.
On the Results panel, you can click the graphical result icon
for a visual representation or the CLI result icon
for CLI output.

The Results panel contains the following details:

Summary Icon—The following table describes the meaning of icons used in the test result.

Successfully completed—All requests passed successfully.
Failed—All requests failed.

Output Parameters—The following parameters are displayed in the test result:

Source—The AOS-CX switch name.
-
Destination—The hostname or IP address of the destination.
-
Packet Loss—Percentage of packet loss generated by the test.
-
Average Round Trip—Total round trip time generated by the test.

Line chart—Displays the round trip time over the selected source and destination in milliseconds. Hover over the chart to view the round trip details.

Graphical Result Icon
—Click this icon to view the output in graphical format as displayed in Ping Test Page—AOS-CX Switch. -
CLI Result Icon
—Click this icon to view the test output in CLI format as displayed in Ping Test CLI Page—AOS-CX Switch.
