Health Metrics—Interface

On the Interface tab, you can hover over the trend graphs to see the health of switch interfaces for the selected time range.

The following graphs and drop-down lists are displayed:

  • Health—Displays the number and overall interface health (Good, Poor, or Fair) of the interfaces configured in the switch. When single alert is present, the tooltip displays the health icon with and the interface which has the port error. When multiple alerts are present, the tooltip displays the number of port errors

  • Alerts—Displays the names of the top 3 active alerts that caused the health status of the interface. The height of the bar graphs represents the number of alerts. The order of the alerts displayed is based on priority and time of occurrence. For more information, see Health Metrics—Alerts.

  • Uplink Throughput—Displays a chart based on the uplink data rate (received and transmitted in bps) configured on the uplink port in the switch.

  • Stack Member drop-down—Select the stack member name to filter out ports specific to the member. Graphs are updated based on this selection. The stack members are listed in order of the severity of its health.

    Note:

    Stack Member drop-down is visible only for a switch stack device.

  • Interface drop-down—Select any interface configured on the switch. Graphs are updated based on this selection. The ports are listed in order of the severity of its health. Interface that are not connected are greyed out. LAG interfaces are displayed at the bottom of the list.

    Based on the selections made on the Stack Member and Interface drop-downs, the following charts are updated for the selected time range:

    • Interface Health—Displays the health of the selected interface. When you hover over this chart, you can see the health status, speed, transmission type, and STP role information.

    • Throughput—Displays the upstream and downstream data throughput for the selected interface on the switch.

    • Frames—Displays the trend in the number of frames (displayed as a percent of the total number of frames) transmitted through the network during the monitoring window selected in the time range. The graph displays the trend in data frames categorized as Errors and Drops. Click Show Details to view additional expanded trend charts for more information: Broadcast, Multicast, Unicast, Giants, Runts, Collision, and CRC/FCS.
