Health Metrics
The Health Metrics page displays the unified real-time snapshot of the health and event related information for an entire site, specific device, or a client for the selected time range (3 hours to 30 days). For more information on selecting the time interval, see Setting the Time Range.

The Health Metrics page displays charts based on new data and will slowly populate the charts over time. No historical data will be migrated.

The number of X-axis labels and their corresponding text depend on the total elapsed time represented by the chart. When multiple charts are displayed in a group, the elapsed time is calculated across all charts, and the resulting range is applied consistently to each chart in the group.
Health metrics page has a Composite Health Bar at the top and multiple tabs at the bottom representing each device type along with alerts and events. You can click on the info
icon on the right to see health metric calculation. At the site-level, you can monitor the health status of all the devices in the site such as APs, switches, gateways, and clients organized into their dedicated tabs. When you drill down to the device-level, you can see different tabs tailored to the type of device selected.

Health Metrics Calculation
Health metrics are calculated for each device type—Access Point, Gateway, or Switch—based on the percentage of devices in Good, Fair, or Poor state within a site. These metrics provide a consolidated view of device health and are represented using color codes: green for good, yellow for fair, and red for poor. This enables quick identification of overall site health across all device categories.
The red color represents a poor health state. It is triggered when the percentage of devices in poor condition exceeds the following thresholds in a site:

Access Points (APs): More than 40% in poor state

Switches: More than 30% in poor state

Gateways: More than 20% in poor state

Clients: More than 40% in poor state
The yellow color indicates fair health when some devices are in poor state or a large share are in fair/poor state based on the following metrics:

Access Points (APs): 20–40% in poor state OR combined fair + poor state exceeds 50%

Switches: 10–30% in poor state OR combined fair + poor state exceeds 40%

Gateways: 10–20% in poor state OR combined fair + poor state exceeds 20%

Clients: 10–40% in poor state OR combined fair + poor state exceeds 10%

Composite Health Bar
A composite health bar present at the top of the page shows the overall consolidated status of the site for the last 3 hours, by default. Each line represents a device type (Access Points, Switches, Gateways, and Clients) on which you can hover to see the health status (Poor, Fair, or Good) of devices for each type.
On the tooltip, you can see the number and percentage of devices that have the current health status.
If health is poor, the tooltip shows poor health icon with number of poor devices/total number of devices (XX%) <Entity Type.
If health is fair, the tooltip shows a fair health icon with number of poor + fair devices /total number of devices (XX%) <Entity Type>. Otherwise, the tooltip shows a good health icon with number of devices with good health /total number of devices (XX%) <Entity Type>.

At the device-level, you can see the different categories of the alerts generated on the device for the selected time range. For example, in below figure, you can see an AP with poor health due to system, and WLAN critical alerts.

Navigating to the Health Metrics page for a Site

In the HPE Aruba Networking Central landing page, select a site from the Sites menu.
Alternatively, you can click the expand
icon on the Sites menu to search for a site from the list. The site dashboard is displayed with the network and connectivity information for the site. -
Click the Health Metrics
icon. The Health Metrics are displayed for the selected site.

Set the time range required by clicking Last 3 hours drop-down. For more information, see Setting the Time Range.
The Health Metrics page is displayed with the corresponding information.
Note:By default, the charts are updated for the past 3 hours.
The Health Metrics page at the site-level displays the following tabs:

In the HPE Aruba Networking Central landing page, select a site from the Sites menu.

Click Network.
The Unified Device List (UDL) view is displayed for the site.

Click the required device name in the list.
The device dashboard is displayed.

Click the Health Metrics
icon. The Health Metrics is displayed for the selected device.

Set the time range required by clicking Last 3 hours drop-down. For more information, see Setting the Time Range.
The Health Metrics page is displayed with the corresponding information.
The tabs are specific to the selected device type. For example, if an AP is selected WLAN, LAN, System, Clients, Alerts, and Events tabs are displayed. If a gateway is selected, WAN, LAN, System, Clients, Alerts, and Events tabs are displayed.

Based on the selected device type, the Health Metrics page displays the corresponding tabs:

WLAN—Displays a comprehensive view of wireless network performance by providing the health status, alerts, and detailed metrics such as throughput, connected clients, channel utilization and quality, noise levels, and frame errors. Select specific interfaces and radios for targeted analysis within a chosen time range to diagnose and resolve network issues effectively. For more information, see Health Metrics—WLAN.

LAN—Displays LAN-related events for devices within a selected monitoring window. It includes visual metrics such as health, alerts, and port type, enabling assessment of network status and pinpoint issues. Additional performance indicators like throughput, connected clients, and frames (including errors and drops) offer insights into connectivity and traffic behavior. WAN—Displays a detailed view of the WAN performance and health over a selected time range. It helps diagnose connectivity issues by visualizing key metrics such as throughput, latency, packet loss, and alert status. For more information, see Health Metrics—WAN.

Interface—Displays switch interface health for a selected time range. Metrics include Overall Interface health, Alerts, Uplink Throughput, Stack Member or Interface selection – selected Interface health, Throughput, and Frame errors/drops. For more information, seeHealth Metrics—Interface

Security—The Security tab provides a visual overview of security-related health metrics and alert activity for the selected switch. This view helps the users monitor and analyze any potential security issues that may affect network stability or device performance. For more information, see Health Metrics—Security.

System—Displays a summary of system health and performance metrics for devices within a selected time range. Provides overall health status, alerts, CPU and memory utilization, temperature, fan status, and power supply conditions metrics along with details of system capacity and high availability. Clients—Displays performance insights by displaying health trends and alert data for the connected clients. It includes graphs that show onboarding time, connection quality (rated as good, fair, poor, or unknown), and prioritized alerts that impact client health. Alerts—The Alerts tab provides a centralized view of all system-generated alerts across the network. It allows you to monitor the health of network components, analyze alert trends, and identify potential issues in real-time. For more information, see Health Metrics—Alerts.

Events—Displays a detailed log of all recorded events for the device during the selected monitoring window (time range). It includes data such as event name, timestamp, category, source type, device name, serial number, MAC address, BSSID, and reason. This tab is visible only when the device is online and supports filtering, search, and column customization for efficient troubleshooting. For more information, see Health Metrics—Events.
