Viewing Client Information in Side Panel

The side panel is displayed on the client dashboard within the List view. You can get insights about the overall status of all clients at a site from the side panel.

To navigate to the List view and view the side panel, complete the following steps:

  1. In the HPE Aruba Networking Central landing page, select a site having at least one active client from the Sites menu.

    Alternatively, you can click the expand icon on the Sites menu to search for a site from the list.

    The site dashboard is displayed with the network and connectivity information for the site.

  2. Click the Clients option.

    The Clients dashboard is displayed.

  3. Click a client row.

    The client-specific information is displayed on the side panel.

  4. (Optional) Click the Troubleshooter icon to perform troubleshooting.

  5. (Optional) Click the Note icon to add or view any notes.

The following table describes the fields in the side panel.

Description

IP Address

Displays the IP address of the client.

Note: This information is available only for online clients.

Last IP Address

Displays the IP address of the client.

Note: This information is displayed only for non-connected clients.

MAC Address

Displays the MAC address of the client.

Manufacturer

Displays the name of the manufacturer.

Connectivity

Displays the details of the connection.

Note: This information is available only for online clients.

For Wireless clients, the following information is displayed:

  • Connected To—Displays the name of the device the client is connected to.

  • Connected Since—Displays the duration of the connection.

  • Band—Displays the radio frequency band on which the client is connected.

  • Channel—Displays the channel assigned to the radio.

  • Signal Quality—Displays the signal quality of the client on the network, classified as Good, Fair, and Poor.

For Wired clients, the following information is displayed:

  • Connected To—Displays the name of the device the client is connected to.

  • Connected Since—Displays the duration of the connection.

  • Port—Displays the port to which the client is connected.

  • Speed/Duplex—Displays the effective port speed and communication direction over the network link or port. The duplex mode can be Full, Half, or Auto.

Last Connection

Displays the details of the last operational connection.

Note: This information is available only for non-connected clients.

For Wireless clients, the following information is displayed:

  • Connected To—Displays the name of the device that the client was last connected to.

  • Last Seen—Displays the duration since the client was last active.

  • Band—Displays the frequency band (2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz).

  • Channel—Displays the channels assigned for the radios with channel bandwidth.

For Wired clients, the following information is displayed:

  • Connected To—Displays the name of the device that the client was last connected to.

  • Last Seen—Displays the duration since the client was last active.

  • Port—Displays the port to which the client was connected.

Classification

Displays the type of device connected to the client.

The following information is displayed:

  • Tag—Displays the tag assigned to the client.

  • Category—Displays the device category of the client.

  • Function—Displays the type of device the client is connected to.

  • Vendor—Displays the vendor name of the client.

  • Model/OS—Displays the Model/OS name of the client.

Alerts

Displays a radial chart of alerts grouped by their severity. The Alerts field is not applicable for offline devices. You can click the radial chart to navigate to the Alerts page.
