Viewing Clients in Summary View

The Summary view provides a graphical representation of relevant information related to all the clients present in the site. This view is also available at the device and global context.

To navigate to the Summary view, complete the following steps:

  1. In the HPE Aruba Networking Central landing page, select a site from the Sites menu.

    Alternatively, you can click the expand icon on the Sites menu to search for a site from the list.

    The site dashboard is displayed with the network and connectivity information for the site.

  2. Click the Clients option.

    The List view is displayed on the site dashboard. See Viewing Clients in List View.

  3. Click the Summary icon .

    The Clients page is displayed.

The Clients page covers the following cards:

Connected Clients

This card displays quick filter tabs, category filters, and a line chart of the clients in the site.

  • Quick Filters—Displays the quick filter tabs for the charts.

    The following filters are displayed:

    • All—Displays the count of wired and wireless clients over time.

    • Wired—Displays the count of wired clients over time.

    • Wireless—Displays the count of wireless clients over time.

    Note:

    When All filter is selected, Client Type, Role, and VLAN options are available for Grouped By.

  • Grouped By—Group the clients by the following criteria:

    • Client Type—Group by Wired and Wireless.

    • Role—Group by the assigned user roles.

    • VLAN—Group by the VLAN assigned to the clients.

    • WLAN—Group by WLAN associated to the wireless clients.

      Note:

      This option is not available with wired clients.

    • Radio Band—Group by radio bands, such as 2.4GHz, 5GHz, 6GHz.

      Note:

      This option is not available with wired clients.

    • Security Level—Group by WLAN security level.

    • By Protocol—Group by the WLAN protocols accessed by clients.

    • Key Management—Group by the key management associated by clients.

      Note:

      This option is not available with wired clients.

  • Line Chart—Displays the number of connected clients over the selected period and grouping. Hover over the chart to view client details.

Top Clients

This card displays the top 5 clients with the most usage (transmitted + received bytes). Clicking on a client name redirects the user to the client dashboard.

Connections

This card displays all the connection attempts made by the client in the site.

  • Attempts—Displays the total number of client connection attempts within the site.

  • Succeeded—Displays the number of successful connection attempts within the site.

  • Failed—Displays the number of failed connection attempts within the site.

  • Top Failure Reasons—Displays the top 5 connection failure reasons within the site.

Classification

This card displays all the client data connected to the site. Click the expand icon to view further details.

  • Tag—Displays how the various classified and non-classified clients are defined in the site. For example, a client can be tagged as corporate assets, gizmo, IoT, and so on.

  • Vendor—Displays the list of vendor of both classified and non-classified clients. For example, vendor can be Aruba.

  • Model/OS—Displays the list of models or OS of both classified and non-classified clients running at the site. For example, the model or OS can be Aruba AP, MacOS, Windows, and so on.

  • Network—Displays the network details of both classified and non-classified clients running at the site.

  • IoT Internal Traffic—Displays the chart for IoT internal traffic details of both classified and non-classified clients running at the site.

  • Internal Data Download—Displays the donut and line chart of the internal data download for both classified and non-classified clients running at the site.

  • VLAN—Displays the donut chart of the VLANs for both classified and non-classified clients running at the site.

  • External Data Download—Displays the donut and line chart of the external data download for both classified and non-classified clients running at the site.

  • Role—Displays the donut chart of the roles for both classified and non-classified clients running at the site.
